Aluminium (Aluminum) Bodied Contemporary?
Hi All,
I just wondered if anyone has ever fitted a Kirkham alloy body onto a CCX chassis frame? If so does it take much surgery? BTW I'm still in need of a pair of front hubs (6 pin drive) if anyone has a spare set under the desk. |
I had the same notion when I had my CCX. Can be done however all the discrete tubing will need to be added. Can be done, try Panel Craft for body as it may be easier to fit. Joe could correct frame for ally body then make the body to fit.
This is not easily done...... |
Call me ignorant... But wouldn't it cost a motsa, and then when it came time to eventually sell it, they still wouldn't call it a Kirkham.

Thanks guys it was just a thought really.
A Kirkham body in the UK costs about £12K inc tax. I'll probably stick with the GRP body I already have. |

I just bought this fiberglass body from Tom Blessin out at West Desert Racing in Scottsdale Az. As you can see from the photos he's in the process of replacing this fiberglass body with one from Kirkham. I hope he'll chime in and give us a run down on what it actually took to put this aluminum body on a Contemporary Cobra Chassis. Michael |
