CCX Steering Geometry
Hi Guys, I now have CCX3 4028 on the road here in the UK. :)
I still need to set up the steering geometry. what are the recommended settings for toe, castor, camber etc? Please help before I destroy my new Avons. Thanks for all the help and advice given during my build too. :D |
Should you use the settings for Jaguar XKE or through trial and error, have CCX owners come up with a better settings?

Hey Kevin, congrats that's big news. I would run around 1/16-1/8" toe in, Jag manual says 2 deg+/- 1/2 caster, CCX manual says 3-5, more being heavier at low speed with better self straightening. Jag manual says 1/4 +/- 1/2 +ve camber, CCX manual says 0 or a tad -ve if you're a corner carver. Do you have the manual?

If he doesn't have the manual , I can send to his e address.

Thanks guys,
I have the CCX build PDFs and a XJ manual. Mine being a late model isn't covered in the CCX pdfs. I'll get it measured first off and see where I am. I have crude camber gauge and I think I'm around 0 camber on one side and about 1/2 degree neg on the other, this is with no shims. To achieve negative on the other side I'd have to machine the top wishbone mounting blocks down a little. I have adjustable castor so that should be easy enough. |
Is the XJ manual PDF or electronic? I'd sure like to have an XJ manual.
