They also have new cars available today instead of vintage ones.

All kidding aside, most 18-wheelers still use CBs. If you spend a lot of time on the Interstate system, a CB is still the best way to keep track of Smokies. The trucks keep a very close eye on where The Man is.

Much better range than a radar detector. You'll know where they are hiding 10 miles or more from your location. Which way they are going if rolling. Even what type (Sheriff, Trooper, local cop, etc.) and what color and type of vehicle they're driving.

And a cell phone is basically useless for this purpose. Who ya gonna call? Not to mention areas where you get no reception. No monthly bill, either.

This might just be the ultimate period accessory for a blue with white stripes 427...:)

All you guys should have one when everything crashes. End of world event or near end of world event. Old tech will work!!!!

and by the way I still have one still installed in a car that won the US express with Cozy.

Larry

Yes the antenna, that five foot white whip on the back of the car. This add on may be the most difficult item for me to add. The car is so clean looking in street trim that the antenna may spoil the look.

But i will add it and see how it looks

Nick

How goes down under, the cobra in street trim was well accepted at the british car day gathering. So far so good, except the log exhaust manifolds produce more foot box heat (even with the fresh air vents).

I do wonder about the hands free law here in ontario regarding cell phones, is a cb exempt?

Thor maine 10-03-2013 12:06 PM

Now you have to get the correct radar detector. I think they called it "The Super Snooper".

that huge box on the dash, I may have to pass on that.

So there are no cobra owners with the hy-range 2 cb in their car?

jr289 10-03-2013 08:19 PM

So is there a screen capture from the film of this particular model installed? White antenna would be obligatory btw.

I gave the fogs some thought but I think the cb radio will be the only mod. I have the 2 four barrel set up and the mirrors are useless.

and the 16" steering wheel is already in the car, I had moto lita make me one as the 15" wheel just didn't cut it.

so, there is no one out there with this cb in their car? Don't be shy post your photo

1985 CCX 10-10-2013 06:25 AM

They must have removed it from the car in the movie as I did not see it in it when with the car first hand....
