Would like new pedals but...?
Picture 1 - is my current pedal box. Brake and Clutch pedals are thin and I'd like to change the pedals only to these AC pedals
Picture 2 - pedals i'd like to change too. However you'll see in picture 3 that the mounting assembly from the arms are 1 straight through nut and bolt. Has anyone successfully changed to these pedals without changing the entire arm assemblies? Or are there pedals out there that have this mounting? Picture 3 - how current pedals are mounted on the arms. Mils, keep in mind that, traditionally, those pedals are coming up from the floor, and not down from the top. That said, you could probably fabricate it to work. Here is a picture of mine, from the back, so you can see how it's done.

Thanks Patrick. I'm getting quotes on reupholstering everything, so that would be a good time to get something fabricated. Love this forum!

I simply trimmed the steel pad smaller than the AC pedals, filed backplate of alloy pads and drilled three small holes between the ribs on pedals. Two top one low....
Drill through steel pads and use #10 or #8 SS nut and bolt. Worked great |

This is what Stefano' pedal box looks like.

I have a Contemporary Classics Cobra. Acton is currently making a set of floor mounted pedals for my car. Once they are installed, I will sell you my current pedals. They have the A/C logo pads on the bottom. I probably won't install the floor mounted pedals until late April, though. I won't receive them for a couple more weeks, and by then I'm in the middle of an implementation at work, so I won't have time for car stuff for a while. Will. |

Looks good, might want to get a smooth head bolt and countersink.
Then sand face a bit to blend in, will then be almost invisible. Proud you made it happen.... :) |
AC Pedal Pads

Here is the AC pedal pad attached to the Jag rectangular pedal shown above. I used 10-32 Flat Head socket screws tapped into the Jag pedal thru the holes that normally accept the grommets. Top screw is tapped so it is just below the reinforcement bracket on the back. Kind of what Jeff was suggesting,

Quick and dirty? Grind off the pad on the back of the AC pedals and JBWeld (or structural epoxy) them to the metal ones. Trim to hide the metal ones. Another possibility would be an adapter between the 2 styles, like a flat iron crescent cut from plate to bolt to the AC pad, welded to a length of thread to bolt to the current pedal.
