Identify a Contemporary without CCX#?

Hi all.

I'm looking at purchasing a Contemporary Cobra but unfortunately the CCX# can't be found. I'm interested to know if there is another way to identify it and if in fact some Contemporary's were in fact unstamped.

Appreciate any help.

Yes
Front left suspension pillar to frame area.
Should be stamped in the 4" tube.
If not you may have an early car that stamped date which was like my old CCX

Reference the Contemporary forum on this site.

I have a Contemporary that has neither a frame nor body number. They were both purchased at different times. As I was told components did not have identification numbers.

Thank so guys. Without this identification # how did you determine it was in fact a Contemporary?

The one I'm looking to purchase the person whom I'm buying from is the third owner and doesn't have much detail.

If you can, post pictures of the frame and suspension here, along with photos of the body, interior, engine compartment, door hinges, and trunk here. Wide, well lit shots are highly suggested

I'll see if the current owner can send a few pictures my way but for starters here is the ad for the vehicle. It is in BC Canada as an FYI.

Was told the vehicle may have been built to be used for a dealership that may have been in the works in Vancouver but never came to fruition.

Does that sound accurate in anyway?

CCX cars have distinct features.
We can ID but you may need more for import if you are in states.
Underside pics and front suspension will ID
From the pics in the add on my phone hard to tell.
Might be easy on a computer

My two cents it's a CCX

Thanks Jeff.

I'll upload a few more pics soon hopefully. I'm actually located in BC so hopeful this works out as will save some headaches for sure.

I know it's a difficult question to answer but how best to determine value and if it truly is a Contemporary versus just a kit does that allow it to be priced as such.

Just trying to gauge how to evaluate my options and see if at this cost the vehicle is inthe proper price range.

I hate to be the bringer of unwelcome news, but Contemporary's, like most other Cobra replicas, are/were "kits".

Nothing really to set them apart other than a bit of a cult following among Cobra enthusiasts based upon a deserved reputation back in their production day as a top quality kit along with ERA and a couple of others.

Your absolutely correct Tropical Buzz. I'm still learning how to use terminology in the clearest way.

As I have little information on the Car I'm looking to purchase I'm trying to understand how to evaluate its worth among my options.

Did Contemporary Motor Company build cars for sale or just kits which were essentially built by an individual as would any other kit car?

Appreciate the information!!

Truly a newbie here.

Contemporary did build factory cars. I owned one for a while until there was this lady with an SUV and a cell phone.. They are exquisite rides.

I have a few additional pics I'm hoping help confirm this is a Contemporary. Hopefully uploading them goes smoothly.

Chassis looks like a Contemporary.
Door hinge looks like a contemporary.

The most telling thing to me though, is the inner door panel is the exact same material and construction as the ones in my Contemporary, so I tend to think it is one.

I agree, CCX!
