Do you have the history of the first owner? The State title it may have been issued in? If you have that information most states have an online request form for a duplicate title issuance.

So, your importation papers should list the seller of the car and should have had it's State Title (usually colored with a state seal) along with the shipping paperwork. Where was the car's exported from?
Kuti, you might reach out to a Washington State Cobra owner or their forum and ask for assistance.

I suspect the issue is not going back to the seller's paperwork, but to establish the age of the vehicle (thus, build date or first registration). Many European countries will only allow cars over a certain age otherwise they have to meet strict import regs for emissions and safety.

Hi everyone, I have bought a Contemporary Classic, on identification plate read: MT.VERNON, N.Y. 10553 Serial #3081. I have bought car for import to Finland, we have crazy registration rules here, replicas accepted but I have to provide to Finnish Tranportation Safety Agency exactly when this car was reistered in US for first time or build date. I have now for several days tried to get any information from DMV but hopeless, oldest title I have is from 2004 and NO CHANCE to succeed with registration here... I would be more than happy if some one have any kind of information!

That would be ScottB's old car, I believe he lived in Canada at the time he owned the car some time back in 2006-2012

can't tell you exactly, but as the Contemporary changed the numbering system zu CCX3-xyxy somewhat in 1983, yours should be approximately from 1981.
On the left side behind the front wheel on the round 4" tube should be the stamp of the number of the frame. With this number you can read out the date of build of the frame. You will find the exact reading in the Contemporary section in this forum.
Good luck

Hi Kuti
I have had similar problems with documenting the first registration on a contemporary. The guy who is helping me in the US ran a "Title search" to track earlier titles on the car, have you tryed that?
