Nutsert or nut rivet or rivet nuts used to secure steering rack

Thanks again for the manuals!

The top bolt that secures the steering rack has stripped out. I ended up looking up the frame with a borescope and what do I find. A couple of nutserts.
Has anyone else dealt with this or know anyone that are familiar with the installation of these in the Minneapolis,MN area?
I have talked to a few mechanics and Fastenal about them and they don’t think they should be used for that heavy duty of an application.
According to assembly manual(I received) it shows a nut on backside not a nutsert.

Nutserts are a great way to install some things on a thin panel. But, I agree, they are not nearly strong enough for a steering rack.

If you can get to the back side, use a bolt and nylock nut. If not, then use a thread repair.

I wouldn't use a nutsert. If you can get to the back side put a nut in. If you can't, you could drill it out and weld a nut in place.

We use Clickbond products quite a bit during aircraft manufacturing. Quite easy to replace later on as well in the field. Fishing the nutplates into place using Weed-eater string works well. https://www.clickbond.com/
