what temp does your car run at w/ Fluidyne Radiator
What temp is your car running with a fluidyne radiator and a FE motor? I’m using a 180 thermostat and a 16” fan and running 90-100c.

when you convert C to F its 1.8 degrees F per each degree C----so 90*C is 180*F

More info is needed, is your fan a pull through or a push through, are you running a shroud, any idea what CFM the fan is, 16 inch fans have different flow rates, whose manufacture. Does the temp go down once you start moving? Are you running an under drive pulley on the water pump? If you are not running a shroud that would be the first place I would start.

What I was looking for is if you have a fluidyne radiator and a FE what fan are you using successfully to keep the motor cool. I don’t have room for a shroud

Black Magic shrouded fan. 427 runs 80c even in Arizona.

I installed pusher fan's, I turn them on with a toggle switch when driving in traffic or slow thru town. I still have a Spal puller fan as a primary. Big block with a Be Cool Radiator, temp. stays around 190.

I don’t have room for a bigger fan. The distance between the back of the fan and the steering rack is 3/4”. I do have a pair of pusher fans which I just got wired and hope they help the problem.

Without having to use a chart the conversions back and forth between ˚C and ˚F can be done with the following two converters;
˚C to˚F (˚C x 9) ÷ 5 +32 = ˚F ....100˚C x 9 = 900 .... 900 ÷ 5 =180 ....180 + 32 = 212˚F Going the other direction, ˚F to˚C (˚F - 32) x 5 ÷ 9 = ˚C .... 212˚F -32 =180 .... 180 x 5 = 900 .... 900 ÷ 9 = 100˚C 100% accurate in both directions no matter what temp you start at. Ed |

Your temp seems to be pretty accurate. In the cool months (Florida) it takes a while for my engine to reach 180 /190. In the summer months 190 is about right driving and will go to 210 in traffic. As soon as I start to get moving and some air flowing across the radiator it will settle at 190. My temp never exceeds 210. Running Griffin 3 row, w/ Black magic temper control fan. I do have pusher fans but they really don’t help much only prolong the increase in temperature when at idle in traffic on a hot summer day. FYI as long as your not overheating and you oil temp is getting above 160, you should be good. You just want to make sure your temperature is cycling when applying air across it (fan or driving) and your radiator should be good. Hope it helps. |
