Dash removal

Anyone have any tips for removing the dash to work on instrument cluster? I see the steering column goes though the dash so I assume that has to come out first. From there it just looks like a couple of screws on the top along the dash?

Thanks.

When you remove the five dash screws you can tilt the dash back towards you and do a lot of work behind it by coming down from the top. I've changed out gauges that way without having to disconnect anything else. If you want to pull the dash completely, you're going to have to remove the steering column, any tight wiring connections to the gauges, ignition switch, other switches, etc., disconnect the vent cables, the water and temperature mechanical lines, the oil pressure line and however your glove box is fabbed in there.

Did you leave the steering column in and just remove the wheel? Did the doors need to come off?

Thanks

First question is.... which replica manufacturer made your car?

Cheers,

edit: I missed that it is posted in the Comtemporary forum

It was 10+ years ago, but as I recall, the doors stayed on. The steering wheel and hub were removed, but I did not take the steering column out, just disconnected it at the dash and let it drop. This was also a Contemporary.
