Rear Carrier Hub rebuild (outer fulcrum)

I'm replacing a damaged rear carrier hub. The OUTER FULCRUM in my CC Cobra has plastic bushings (polyurethane or Delrin?) ... vs steel bearings/races in the original Jag.
Did Contemporary Classic typically replace the original Jag bearings/races with these plastic bushings ... or was this likely done later by an owner? Any idea who makes these plastic bushings, and part no? Any thoughts as to which approach (bearings vs bushings) is best or the pros/cons of each? |

I believe Contemporary had someone make those as I received a set with the kit I bought. The original owner bought them at the time from Contemporary I believe. See photos in my album.

Another recommendation for Team CJ. Their parts are a bit steep but worth it. Tom |
The Jag type bearings would be far superior to polyurethane.
The bearings have no give and will last a lifetime. No give will yield more predictable handling. John |
If you decide to go with polyurethane again, you might be better off having some made out of 75D polyurethane instead of that red stuff that is commonly used. It is almost the same hardness as delrin but has a memory like polyurethane.
I have Team CJ in mine. Work great. |
The poly bushings were made by a company named Concours West Ind. CWI.
