In 1993 Peggy and I were Cobra shopping and one of our stops was Contemporary's shop in New York. I also visited one of their dealers in Ellicott City, MD.
I still have a few pages of information that show the pricing for everything Contemporary sold at that time. If any of you have an interest in these old price sheets for historic or archival reasons, I'll mail them to you for the asking.:D

Hey Steve what happened, did the tapered holes get flogged out? I have seen the set up you're talking about on a Series II front end with the vented rotors. It looks like it has been jig positioned for minimal bump steer then bolted and welded into position. The one I looked at had 2 bolts holding it and quite a bit of weld.

the actual steering arm from the upright to the tie rod broke. the photo shows a temporary weld just to move the car around.

Hi Steve, I got it from the horses mouth. He's not sure if they were specially cast or if they were XJ6 arms modified but the one thing for sure is they were modified to the XKE position. The solid rotor and vented rotor cars that are here right now both have the 2 bolt E type arms.

thanks so much. What would you advise for replacement? welding is not an option. should i get them machined? if so, from what? big tires mean big stresses. Somehow, I don't see simple OEM replacements on the horizon.

Hi; If anyone needs an exhaust system for their CCX, we made all of the systems for Contemporary back in the day and still can, as we still have the jigs. Regards.

Dan, I called Welsh and they drew a blank. Any reference # or parts ID I can use? Did you have to modify or was the steering arm just like I see? This was last year? Thanks a ton.........
dan, is this the same unit we're talking about or are you talking stock E Type stuff? did you see my photos and the one from Mikemate with the forged steering arm welded to the upright?

When ordering or asking about Jag parts, it's important to use the correct nomenclature. That specific part is called a Stub Axle Carrier and if you have the short stub shatfs then it's for a series III E Type,I believe. If you ask for a steering arm, they'll wonder what you're talking about. The Official Jaguar "E" book by Robert Bentley has an excellent parts break down that will lend assistance and provide the correct nomenclature for front end and rear end parts.
