Front to Rear Brake Bias
I just got this nifty little spreadsheet that calculates brake bias from Mickmate and now I'm dangerous:LOL:. Contemporary used Jag XKE pedals and brakes with a VW Super Beetle master cylinder (.75" dia.) for their stock offering. The upgrade that they offered used Wilwood Superlite 4 piston calipers (1.38" dia.) with XJ vented rotors, machined hubs, and series II uprights. The stock Series I Jag stuff works out to 59% front brake bias and with the recommended upgrade 57%. For reference, the ideal is 66% and my Miata with about the same front to rear weight distribution as the Cobra is 70%. Using Wilwoods with the 1.75" piston diameter would change the bias to 67%, so by the numbers I think Contemporary got it wrong! I would like to hear from Contemporary folks on what brake bias works for you?

Correction, 62% front bias stock, 60% with factory upgrade. I forgot to account for the 10" rear vs. 11" front rotor diameter.

Contemporary Brake upgrade
Okay, no opinions on that one so I will share what I have decided. I am selling my Wilwood Superlite calipers with 1.38" pistons, buying a set with 1.75" pistons, and putting the pistons from the Jag Series I front brakes in the rear (bottom option). I may also put a porportioning valve in the rear line to get to the magic 66% number! Let me know if anyone wants more details on this upgrade,

Sounds like a man with a plan! If it was mine I'd try it at 62% with a panic stop. You can always add the valve if'n ya think you need to.
