CCX Front Brakes
1 Attachment(s)
Hi:
I'm doing a little research on my CCX3057 front brakes and was wondering if anyone might know if these are an upgraded option offered by Contemporary back in the day? They don't appear to be XKE Series I units. (at least from my untrained eye) I'd sure like to change at least the pads. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Kirk |
Looks to be an upgrade of sorts!
4 piston versus the XKE single. With pads, stainless flex lines and bleeding you should be in good shape. Jeff |
Thanks, Jeff.
The SS lines are already there, any ideas whose calipers these might be? They have what looks like "JFZ" cast into the caliper body. Kirk |
Just a quick qualifier on the last request. Anyone with any practical experience with these?
Doing a little Googling gives me the current manufacturer of JFZ brake components. I'll measure all the particulars next time the wheel's off for pad/spares compatibility. All this appear to be available out there. Again, many thanks in advance for any comments. Kirk |
Pads
Kirk,
You should be able to find what you want here www.porterfield-brakes.com/ By looking through the catalogues, you can compare the dimensions of your pads to find out what style they are. The Porterfield R4S come highly recommended (search CC for brake pads), I have some coming next week. My CCX does not stop to my satisfaction even with Wilwoods on the front. I will let you know how they work. I also purchased new pads for the rear (Lucas/TRW pads) same as used on ERA cars. Going to install this weekend. I'll keep you posted. Ray |
Hi Ray:
Thanks for the post and link. I'll do some measuring and look online. Please let me know how your pad replacement works. Kirk |
Hi Ray, what piston diameter are your Wilwood brakes? See the thread below on brake bias. Art
