Superformance Coupe Pricing

How are the prices running for the early SPF Coupes? Mileage considerations?

Really varies...very few of them actually come on the market...so, it is hard to say...I personally have sold 2 "pre-owned", both were in the 80's.

Hi There...

In in addition to GPs advice, what I have found is that Coupe's with Aluminum Block motors and IR motors can sell at a $10-15k premium to other coupes.

I have been watching pre-owned pricing for 4 years; 2 years prior to purchasing and since then as an owner of #136.

Very generally speaking, cars with IR or aluminum block motors are selling into the 80s..sometimes high 80s. Other cars with for example Roush 427sr or r are selling in the 70s

Of course there are unique situations that are higher and a few desperation sales lower.

Any questions, please feel free to yell! or write directly @ jjgrice55@gmail.com

Tiger 6...are you thinking of selling yours or buying another? If selling, send me the details (specs, pics, car #) as I have a friend who is looking.

We have seen them trade hands as low as 65K for a ratty car. -- these things need proper support so if you think you are getting a deal at a lower price , you probably are not. even the best sorted coupes still need attention and details to be updated.

there are literally thousands of details in these things to review and verify.

if you are thinking of buying one, - GO SEE IT IN PERSON and get it taken to a shop that knows coupes. -- oh and call AMEX to increase your limits.

I would love to somehow build a pricing model to allow a Cobra to be priced. It would require the actual sales price of used Cobra's to be known. Few want to share the price they actually paid. Too much ego on the line....

Hi there, some of the opinions shared herein is based on actual sales data. For example I've tracked Coupe sales (selling price) for 4 years or more. Part of the challenge is the sample size is very small to create a model.

However, I stick with my research. Cars in great shape and low mileage with non aluminum or non IR motors have sold for in the 70's with some in the low 70s and with aluminum and IR motors into the 80s with all aluminum AND IR in the higher 80s.

To be specific, I paid $72 for SPC0136 in 2009, it had 2,800 miles, in perfect condition with 427sr and fuel injection. The new glass window just installed prior to sale.

On balance at the time there were several similar cars sold in the high 70s.

I believe I was very fortunate and got a great deal.

Jeff
