How do you guys tie down your Cobra
I recently ordered a Jimglo tilt trailer to tow my Cobra. On my car there are no locations or eyelets to hook tie down straps to. I have see where the tow straps are run through the rims to tie the vehicle down at all four corners.
Interested in pros and cons on this method, or is there a place to weld brackets to that can be used to tie the vehicle down. |
I cross tie to the front and rear A-arms.

I wrapped 2" tie-down straps with ratchets from the frame front and back. Two straps in the back and one in the front. I worried about them and checked the tightness for my peace of mind. I think a wrap on the wheels would be fine too.

Thanks for your response.

I prefer straps over the wheels
I have towed a number of different cars over the years. My experience has led me to believe that four, individual straps over the tires works best. Put wheel chocks on the trailer deck to locate the car's front wheels (balance the trailer with the car on it to have about 600 pounds or so of tongue weight). By using four tie downs, you have redundancy should one let go, and you don't have to crawl under and around to secure the car on the trailer.
