tail light lens
How do they come off. I thought I saw that they just pry off.
I didnt build this rocket, but I want to add LED brake lights to it without causing damage. The Nut |
stop tail lights removal
Get a small screw driver and insert it behind the trim ring and lever the ring out of the rubber and the glass will come straight out. I did that to change the bulb and lost the glass and trim ring. So if you dont need the lenses or rings I would greatfully accept one cause I cant find anyone that will sell only the missing parts:CRY:

On my Factory Five you lift up the rubber ring around the lens and it will come out. Takes a bit of doing to be sure and not tear the rubber but it can be done.

Thanks Guys. And I hope to hang onto mine, so there wont be any spare ones .

we have found that most LED tail light replacement bulbs dont fit in the vintage lucas housings - you might want to test fit carefully to avoid damage.

UPDATE !! The lenses came off just as you fellas told me they would.
The LEDS did nt work out. They werent brighter I did find my builder used a socket and bulb for 57 type bulb for the brakes. (dual filament) Only the brighter filament was active, so I jumpered the socket so both filaments light up. Just a little brighter. Next is replacing the master disconnect switch. The one I have, the key is removeable. Im always concerned someone will take the key and I ll be stranded. Replacing it with a nonremoveable unit. The Nut |
