Cobra Daytona Coupe fiberglass body molds

A friend of mine has decided to sell his Daytona Coupe body molds. Coupe uses original coupe front windshield. Comes with 3 sets of safety glass & plexiglass parts. (front windows, rear hatch plexiglass, rear quarter windows / scoops, headlight covers and driving light covers). Fits on original style 289 Cobra roadster frame or Factory 5 frame ( I have two coupes, both on 289 Cobra Roadster frames. Will provide pictures if you are interested.

What kind of money is he asking.

Good question. I will see what he wants for the molds and a list what comes with the molds. I have 2 of his bodies (both on 289 cobra roadster frames). I can email you some pictures if you want. I believe that in addition to the front windshield and plexiglass stuff m, there is a complete body on aftermarket frame, and possibly a finished coupe on a Factory Five Frame. So, I will talk to him tomorrow and get back to you with the price and what you get for your money. There are 4 molds 2 - door molds, front end and main body section. Are you looking to get in the business or just looking for a body?

I know a few guys that need windshields. If they would fit original cars. Between us who knows what could happen. Does he have a name he went by for his bodys? If nothing more post a couple pictures of your cars

Who says that these windshields will fit an original? As everyone here knows, the first coupe was rebodied at California Metal Shapers in LA, under the eye of Pete Brock. The other chassis, were flown to Carrozzeria Gransport in Modena, Italy. According to Alan Mann, the Italian cars had potato chip thin bodies, and nothing, including the windshields were interchangeable. Not that 1960s Ferrari's were any better, with headlights that were inches different in height! Cheers, Dennis

Cobras were hand built cars that were built to conform to a wood buck. Right and left side fender on the layer cars had different profiles because the buck did not wear evenly. Might have been due to soft wood. However to your point Shelby did not make a new window for each car. Also, the original widows dropped down a little on the top sides. Most of aftermarket reprod got the window shape wrong. The size and shape of the windows that come with the molds are an exact copy of the original windows.

Neither AC nor Shelby built the bodies or windshields for any of the Daytona's, as I stated above! Cheers, Dennis

I know it's an old post, but did you ever gather any pictures to post?
I would be interested in where you friend got his windshields from. Would like to get some
