Daytona Coupe at SAAC-27
1 Attachment(s)
There were three Coupes at SAAC-27. Only one of them actually went out on the track when I was there. Since those of us visiting here are de facto Coupe lovers, here's one for the album!
All the best, |
Randy,
What CSX number is it? Do you know the numbers of the other two? I know its great seeing these cars up close. The only one I seen was at SAAC-25. I think it was CSX2300. At the time it belonged to a man from New Orleans. It was sold at auction a few months later at Monterey. Ross |
CSX-2603
I only got the CSX# from one of the three: CSX-2603.
This car was still in the process of being restored. It is owned, according to the window sheet, by Jay Russell. I believe that the Shelby display was a McClusky continuation Coupe. As for the one that was on the track that I am standing next to above...well, someone other than me knows. Thanks for asking, though! |
I saw the one on the track. It was only out there for about 10 laps. But it was flat-out flying.

Upstate Daytona Coupe at SAAC 27
Randy, Scott Douglas was supposed to bring his Upstate Daytona Coupe to the SAAC event. Did you notice the numbers on this Coupe? PS did you get any photos of this Coupe on the track or at the event? If so could you either post them or forward them to me? Thanks!

The only one that I saw on track was #14. Besides the one above, I have two others of it exiting the track (attached).
Thanks for asking! **) |

The Oleson coupe is not only a replica, but the chassis number CSX 2603 is equally a replica. No such chassis number ever existed. A "total" fabrication. Sorry we missed you in Fontana Rick |
SURPRISE !
Well I'll be hornswagled (I was). Given that is a total fabrication, I'm surprised they even let the fellow exhibit his car without a disclaimer.
I'm equally sorry that I missed you at SAAC-27, Rick. I was all over the place there, but not while you were I suppose. See you a breakfast at Athens, then? All the best, Randy Klein |
Here is another one. I believe this is the McCluskey coupe and I never saw it on the track. It was in the concourse section.
