CSX 2299 Daytona color?
Does anyone know the color that CSX 2299 was painted when it ran at Daytona in 1965? I think (but I'm not sure) it was painted Viking Blue, but there is some reference to the darker Guardsman Blue. I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Don't know the color but thought I would ask a question. Did all the coupes have the SW 2 5/8" gauges with the 3 1/2" tach/speedo? Seems to me that they also had different gauge layouts and each were different? any one know?

The team colors for '64 were Viking Blue. With more Ford involvement in '65 the color changed to the "more corporate" Guardsman Blue w/ Wibledon White stripes and wheels. As for instruments , yes the layouts and instrument sizes were different in the coupes. Ths was pretty much dictated by driver/crewchief agreement on personal choice. The Stewart Warner mechanical 2 5/8" non-electrics were preferred. The tachs were Jones/ Motrola mechanical drive. Badger

Thanks so much. That cleared up the color differences. I didn't realize these cars only raced for two seasons.
