Yeah, that's old. 2287 was owned by Phil Spector, who I hear just landed a prison term.
I think the story goes that he gave it to his bodyguard, who gave it to his daughter. She put it into storage where it sat until it's sale.

The story I heard is the Phil gave it to his body guard, he got way too many speeding tickets and his lawyer told him to dump it before he gets into real trouble (irony). The body guard gives it to his girl friend. The girl friend stores the car and kills herself by lighting herself on fire (ouch). No one new where it was, someone found it - tada.
