cobras in europe

I am currently living in Denmark, and am considering buying a cobra kit. I'm interested in a car with a fiber glass body and indipendent rear end (the Jag suspension sounds appealing too). I am also keen that the body is the original dimentions. I've never seen a cobra here and am wondering if I could get an english one, or if american is the only option. (nothing against them, just the shipping costs to europe). I am also curious about compliance. If it's built in the EU it should be fine but a car from the US may be a can of worms to get on the road.
If there is any one who can shed some light on the situation, I'd be much abliged!
P.S. any recommendations as to which kits are good...or which should be avoided?

Jarvis - many kits built in the UK for mainland Europe. I am fairly sure there is a Danish Cobra club you could contact - and you should, since they will know they way around your local regulations.

Certainly there are clubs in Germany and Holland that I know of - try a web search for them.

From my own knowledge, kits from Kirkham, Hawk, Dax, GD, Crendon, AK, and Pilgrim have all made their way to Europe. And this would not be an exhaustive list. Some European countries recognise the UK low-volume type-approval system (SVA), some don't.
Email me directly if you want more info on the pros and con's of each type. (You can do that by clicking on the "email" button at the bottom of this post).
I can think of kits I would personally avoid, but that is for private communication. (and, of course, it's just my own humble opinion).

Do you want to buy a complete car, or build it yourself? To help you further, I really would have to have some idea of your budget.
