Top Loader Speedometer Cable Input

I feel like a moron for asking this but I cannot find for the life of me where I install my speedometer cable into my top loader. Does anyone have a picture/instructions?

Thanks.....

It mounts in the tailstock, opposite the shifter plate pads. It is like 7/8 Inch and there is bolt hole, 3/8 head, something like a 1/4 threaded hole next to it. The speedo gear is installed in the hole and the metal retaining clip is bolted via that 3/8 head, 1/4 hole bolt.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. It definetly helps me. Anyone have a pic?

There's not that much to it that you should need a pic...just a big hole in the passenger side of the tailhousing. The speedo cable will have a gear on the end of it along with a clamp. You put the gear in the hole and bolt the clamp to the tailhousing.

So I got home last night, made sure I had my glasses on and took another look around. I was thinking..."how the heck could I be missing a BIG HOLE on the passenger side of the tranny? These guys must be crazy!" I have NO idea how I missed this GAPPING hole on the side (actually it is partially hidden by my frame). I feel like an idiot. I hope I gave you all a good laugh.

hehehe....no problem....that's what we're here for. Many people have laughed at my lack of insight before...don't sweat it. It's part of learning.
