Saturday's lunch get-together (pictures!)

Saturday was absolutely awesome in the north Atlanta suburbs. Perfect weather for a Cobra luncheon! We had participation from Mike Geng (Toy Collector), Jason Patrick (patrija), Chip Bering (Chip), WD Goldsmith and his wife Donna (WD Goldsmith), Jeff Neely (new to the club), and of course, your's truly.

No time to write now. More stories later!

What a blast

Keith,

On behalf of all of us in attendance--thanks for setting this up. these last minute get togethers are usually the ones that work best and result in lots of fun. It was pleasure meeting Jeff, Jason, Chip, and the Goldsmiths. The weather was just PERFECT!!

I hear some Porsche guy called the suicide prevention line Saturday night :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:  Wonder why?? :3DSMILE:

Let's do it again!!

excelguru 10-22-2001 08:55 AM

It was very much my pleasure and I certainly would like to do it again sometime. Unfortunately, I don't plan to be in GA again until the week of Thanksgiving (I'll be taking the whole week off), but you guys feel free to have fun in my absence (just take plenty of pics for me :D ).

The weather really could not have been better. What a glorious day.

I wrote a story about our Porsche encounter on the "Smoked a Covette" thread. Click HERE for a link directly to that thread.

Again, I wish to thank everyone for attending. It was a blast.

Keith, thanks so much for thinking to call me. Caitlin and I had a blast, especially taking that porsche. Can't wait to do it again.

Thanks again,
Jeff

welcome Jeff

Keith, you got Jeff to post!! Welcome to the board.

excelguru 10-22-2001 01:22 PM

Jeff,

Thanks for reminding me of your daughter's name. I'll update my photo album accordingly. I think she had just been born when I first met you back in the fall of last year (if memory serves). I'm really glad you were able to make it on less than 10 hour's notice! And welcome to the forum!

Keith - Definite thanks for pulling it together. Although you have family nearby, I still find it humorous that it took you from SC to pull us all together! :D

It was a great time meeting everyone. Still feel like a shmuck for driving the truck, but a little afraid of hurting my new toy until Bill blesses it.

Thanks again and let's do it again soon.

Keith - thanks again for pulling off a great gathering and for posting the pictures. In November lets try and get toether.

November

Aw, shucks... thanks for the kind words guys. Patrija, don't feel bad to driving the truck. Better safe than sorry!

November sounds fine to me. I'm taking off the entire week of Thanksgiving. My wife is bugging me about attending the Carolina Cup equestrian event here in Camden on the 18th  , but after that, we'll be Georgia bound for sure.

The weather may not facilitate the Cobras, but just getting together to chat and socialize is the main thing anyway. Perhaps next time, we can arrange bringing our better halves so they can sit around and trade stories about us.

Meeting at Aoto Motif still sounds like a nice idea. We'll have to figure out if there's a good place to eat near there. Hey, we've got time to figure all that out.

Thank you Keith, although when you are my age, one tends to keep it a secret

Have a great weekend.

Pictures coming soon of what I guess I can say is a birthday toy. Going to get it insured today, and probably get tags next week so I can stiff Fulton County out of a year's worth of excise tax (aka Ad Valorum). May even get dealer to let me bomb around in it again--after all, it is my Birthday :3DSMILE:

excelguru 10-26-2001 10:05 AM

I know what it is!
I know what it is!

But I'll let Mike do the honors... :3DSMILE:

Be careful in that thing, Mike... don't forget what the guys said about seeing straight-lines to trees! YIKES!

patrija 10-26-2001 10:09 AM

And make sure you know what RPM the boost is at!!!!
