Lobster season is in the Keys not here. Since you are the only one who asked to stay longer I have an extra bedroom and you would also have your own bathroom. If anyone wants to make it a weekend event I could check into lodging the big buck days ended April 15th. This is our first local event and we plan on having more with lots of things to do, thats why we are getting together.

Thanks for the offer.
Renee enjoys staying at hotels, so I'll check with her. I'll let you know soon so you can make it available for someone else. Ed FFR1997K |
I just spent last weekend in a motel in Orlando for a wedding. My house is setup with my bedroom the master suit on the other side of the house, you and Renee could raid the icebox in the middle of the night and I would never know it. My buddy stayed with us for over 6 months when his house was being built in the Cape. Of course he has to come and help me with my Cobra on demand. If she insists I will get you some phone numbers to call.

Thanks Dan,
I'll talk with her about it tonight :D Ed FFR1997K |
Dan, I think I might just have to take that 3 hour drive from Orlando. Count me in. David Gall.
|
David,
Come early and join Ed and I for coffee and donuts. Dan |
Dan,
I spoke to Renee last night and we are headed your way for the Bash. I wanted to thank you for the offer to stay the night. However, Renee prefers to stay in a hotel for the evening. Something about being in a strange bed really works in my favor. You see, I get REALLY lucky at hotels... not sure why, but who's arguing :D I wouldn't want you thinking there was any heavy construction going on in your spare room... y'know, with all the banging and thrashing around.... :D Almost had the cops called one night at a Holiday Inn..... :D :D :D Anyway, thanks again for the offer. It's just one of lifes simple pleasures I dont want to miss out on! I'll gladly pay hotel costs knowing what is on the schedule for that evening. LOL, Ed FFR1997K |
Let's make some plans
A Poker Run is not a race. It's a game of chance and an assembly of some of the hottest, fastest and most exotic Cobras. Even before the actual event begins, you can sense the burning fever of anticipation. Like all true blue Cobra enthusiasts, Poker Runners are itching to head out on the open road. Sure they love the attentions of wide-eyed performance fans fawning like love-struck children over their sleek, super-fast Cobras. Sure, they listen carefully to important details outlining proper conduct, safety and rules of the road at the driver's meeting. But, like a pride of lions ready to prowl, Poker Runners are rarin' to unleash raw horsepower.
A Poker Run is fun on the road with power to burn. It's a few glorious hours of performance Cobra driving at its finest, a chance to renew old acquaintances and make new friends. Each participating Cobra driver carefully charts the course, stopping at five checkpoints along the route to pick up a sealed envelope containing a single playing card. At the final checkpoint, the envelopes are opened and the driver holding the best poker hand is declared the winner! Signing on for a Poker Run also means being part of a well-organized, activity-oriented, fun-filled safe event. Naturally, it helps to have a great road course, but equally as important are the card stops and special hosts that cater to Poker Runners throughout the run. Poker Runs are events for the entire family. At each of the five checkpoints, host members would provide a card for each player and then continue on with the group to the next location. So mark your calendars today for August 10th, and be sure to capture the spine-tingling thrills of taking part in a Poker Run for our next outing in your area. All we need is five members located at their home or someplace where we could have a card stop. The largest group would start at point 1., picking up their first card and then continuing on to the next stop, also bringing enough cards along for the other players that we would pick up at the additional locations. Actually point 1., and point 5., could be the same location, this way ending back at the starting point. At the other three locations you could leave a family member home to pass out the cards so you could run the entire course. The winner of the best poker hand would receive a prize of some sort. I hope I made this sound interesting enough for you to come and help us plan future gathers of the Floridian section of the Deep South Cobra Club. Dan |
No Problem
Ed,
I guess you will want the room with the Queen bed and not the two double beds. I have stayed at the Casa Loma Motel in the Cape before. They are located south of me at 3608 Del Prado Boulevard, phone number is 941-549-4877. If we could get Deane Boothe to book a room with his wife we could help him celebrate his wife's birthday on Sunday. As of now he can't come because he said he sleeps with his wife and promised her a nice birthday. What's with you guys:confused: In the winter months you would have to book a year in advance and the room rate is now at it's lowest. Dan |

I don't care what Trudy says :D My buddy Jerry is alright I asked him to post the Cobra Bash on our web site and Hell, it's there.  Thanks Jerry and yes we are trying for 100 people. Dan **) **) along Cobra Bashing |
I'll send a mailing out to the West Palm Beach group.
Lets see if we can get any of them to attend. Ed FFR1997K |
Ed,
I got a reply from Chris Bailey and I'm waiting to hear from him. He told me that he and his brother Richard have attended the autocross in Fort Myers, (closed during the summer months.) I'm also trying to sign them up to our club. I do have about 10 attendees so far, I like you, have not contacted the people who live in our own back yards as of yet. You don't know how hard it was not to post about Gainesville in June. I think you got both Dino's and Jim's attention, plus I heard Jim was out shopping:LOL:  Dan |
Dan & Ed - I was in contact with Chris yesterday to see if he wanted to caravan across to the Bash. He indicated that he had a commitment until about 9AM on the 10th but would probably come at that time. I've also taken the liberty of asking Cobradoc from miami but have not heard back from him as of yet.
Frank. |
Frank,
If they have a Cobra bring them, just let me know how many so I can keep track of FOOD and DRINKS. Like I have said everyone knows someone they can bring along, which automatically doubles the size of your party. More BEER, POP, and FOOD, no problem:LOL: Theres not to much todo in the lazy days of summer, so let's COBRA PARTY Dan Let's get this thing **) **) along. |
Ed's got the next one!
If this thing gets BIG enough we could meet halfway, the only problem, all there is, COWS and ORANGES   No PEOPLE.

Dan
Tom & Daisy Jones will plan on attending, Comming down from Tampa... August !! we will probably trailer. You know its going to rain. You got that BBC on the road? |
Tom,
If you drive it down bring something to cover it for our normal after noon rain. If you trailer it I still have an open lot across the street from my house. Ed will like seeing another 347CI but he doesn' have NOS. I've got you and your wife on my list. Dan I have the BIG BLOCK on the rode. |
Hey, I helped put in that 347 Stroker, and if you ask me, that 2 stage NOS will only earn you more tickets than me :D
Tom, I am glad to hear you are getting that project on the road. I'll be over tonight to see 2 of the 3 Mustangs you just added to your corral. How hard can it be to talk you into a GT40 project? Cheers, Tampa caravan to the Cobra Bash!!! ED FFR1997K |
Please guys no tickets:LOL:
If you come in on Friday we can take your cars out to the 1/8 mile IHRA drag strip.:3DSMILE: You would need a helmet and a catch can. Ed, just make sure you contact the two members that live in your home town. Dan |
