Opinions on Panhandle Performance?
I'm preparing to pick a shop to rebuild my 351W and Panhandle Performance is not too far away. If you have had any experience with these folks, let me know what you think (e.g., value, timely work, honesty, stand behind work?).

Tom,
I just hate it when no one answers you. You know most would suggest Southern Automotive. Panhandle Performance has a nice web site and it is your closer source. http://www.panhandleperformance.com/index.html Dan |
Tommy,
You might try asking the same question at The Corral. It's a Mustang forum, but there is a wealth of info there about Ford engines and shops that build ford engines. Pete |
I picked up a Procharger from them for my Tahoe and had excellent service and advice. Don't have any info on the rebuild aspect.

Panhandle performance has had engine buildups featured in most of the Ford Performance magazines. They are supposed to be one of the best Head porters in this part of the coultry and they do specialize in small block fords so they should know their stuff. They are not cheep but reasonable for a top notch company. Bill Parham at Southern automotove knows a thing or two about FE fords and the 351 windsors and clevelands. Grover Niles (niles32@cox.net) in Niceville, FL has a stroked 351 cleveland from Bill's shop. You know Jerry Rowley has the stroker FE from Bills shop and Bill has stood behind everything Jerry has broke during the "Break in period" ;) |
Hey Ruble, the only thing I broke was the camshaft! But you are right, he certainly stood behind it. I took the car to him and he put in a new cam. I have three race days on it since then with no problems in the engine at all. The oil pressure stays high and it runs really strong to 7,000rpm, which I do regularly on the track. I hit the liniter at 7 many times this past session.

Hey Jerry, What about that diesel!!!

Be nice now. Show some respect for your elders, afterall!:JEKYLHYDE I do run my stroked 427 on diesel occassionally, so what? It's mine, I can run it on anything I want to!:o :o Right?:3DSMILE:
Be cool:cool: Jerry |
Thanks for the help guys
I've decided to have a friend/mechanic/racer who runs a shop here in DeFuniak Springs do the job. Ultimately, it came down to trust, and even though he doesn't specialize in Ford engines, I trust him completely as a mechanic, a businessman and a person.
