Convoy to Cobra Bash @ Dan's
OK, here is the official thread for the North to South I-75 Cobra Bash convoy... :D
So far, here are the participants: Ed Kamptner (Engineer Ed) Jim Pomroy (Gator A/C) Tom Jones (TampaTAJ) Chester Littlefield (?) Need to contact TampaRMC (Rich) Fredrick Turton, Jim McGovern. Joe Pace contacted me and he will be coming later.... Who else? Sign up and lets work out a time. I am tentatively figuring on linking up with Tom Jones / Chester Littlefield and leaving the Tampa are @ 8:00 am. This should put us in the Bradenton area at 9:00 to link up with Jim Pomroy. Mike Iodice will be coming from St. Augustine on Friday evening. Mike wants to show off his small block Chevy with his new Hilborns. Just make sure you get here before noon so I can get the lunch on from 12-1pm. If you need any info on attendees let me know I will send you any phone numbers you might need. I contacted everyone on the list by email this past Saturday and only had one cancellation and I removed his name from the posted list.

Here are the plans as of last night (8/6/02). The Tampa gang is heading out to I-75 roughly around 7:30 ~ 7:45. We are going to try and link up via cell phones and determine eachothers positions. We will be stopping at the rest area located just south of Riverview on I-75. We will be getting our convoy together at the rest area. Tom Jones and I are both pulling trailers. Chester is a 90% chance of also pulling his trailer. Richard Clark is travelling down in his 2000 Toyota. I'm still waiting to hear from Joe Smith. 8:30 should work, but no sweat it if we miss each other. I'll see you tomorrow one way, or another. |

I've had the same problem. What I found works is I place my cell phone on my shoulder harness near the top. That way with my volume up really loud, I can hear my phone ringing. Even with ear plugs in !! If we dont link up, oh well... we will see you at Dans. A few of us are pulling trailers so you may catch up to us anyway. Drive safe. Ed |
