Important info about Gainesville, please read.
Guy's and gals....
For anyone who is planning on racing or attending the Gainesville track day on 1/18/03.... You MUST attend the drivers meeting on Friday night to be permitted into the track facility on Saturday. 1) We need to tech your car Friday night. We will not be doing any inspections on Saturday. 2) The drivers meeting is a must for all drivers and pit crew members. In order to save time and get the most out of Saturday, all deposits, insurance waivers and event information will be covered on Friday night. We will be discussing all pertinent information about the event on Friday night as well as ansering any questions you may have. We will also separate into two classes: (competitive driving and non-competitive driving ). Worker assignments will also be given at the meeting. The meeting will be held in the lobby of the Hampton Inn roughly around 9:00 pm. We will be leaving the hotel parking lot early on Saturday morning and stopping for gas at a location near the track for topping off. After we enter the facility, no one will be permitted to enter the facility. The gate will be closed at this time. We are trying to keep this event safe and fun for all who have paid. In the interrest of safety, we must discontinue any racing when any vehicles are entering and exiting the facility. Hence the reason for closing the gate. We do not want to lose the ability to drive at this track. Please understand the importance of the guidelines we have set for this event. I look forward to seeing you all there and having a fun / safe time. My cell number is (813) 765-3769. Please call me if you are running late for the drivers meeting. Jim, give me a call and let me know what time to meet you Friday to set up the track. I'll be leaving Tampa at 11:30. I should arrive in Gainesville at 1:30. Ed FFR1997K |
OK, we need a head-count for dinner on Friday night.
We are not plannig on eating at the Outback. Previously, the Outback steakhouse has been too crowded and the tables too small for our group. Add in the long wait times and we have had enough of the Outback. More than likely, we will opt for another steak house in the area. We will look into an alternate restaurant that will support our group for friday night. Please respond to this thread and let us know if you will be attending dinner on Friday night. If you are familiar with the area, please give us your suggestions for a restaurant. Ed FFR1997K |
