Nice pics, especially of master craftsman Lewis!!! Nice to see him in a pic. Motor looks sweet. Thanks for using the telephoto ;)

Looks great! Congrats! The block almost looks "big" in that first photo. ;) I know you're stoked. I'll look forward to seing that thing on the road this spring.

Keith :)

I noticed the carb is silver. I am used to seeing gold Holleys. Any story behind why this carb is silver, or am I totally out of touch with something (...and that is very likely!).

P.S. I think the starter is robust enough. Just stick it in gear and use it and say you are an electric powered vehicle!!

tu-tone engine?

I just wanted the carb to match the rest of the engine, tu-tone just does not work..... ...or, uh I dunno.

It takes a big starter...these small blocks have have more then 5:1 compression like them bi-gap-blocks and it takes a bit to spin them up!!

My starter needs a starter on my big block ;) I have a 289 hanging off my bellhousing :3DSMILE: Looks just like the pic you posted in the first shot without the camera lense trickery!

P.S. again: I like the silver carb--it's different.

Sounds like you're compensating. See Dr. Tony.

ToyCollector 01-27-2003 08:01 PM

I confess, I am compensating. :p This high compression/high cubic inch stuff is a world without compromise, and if we need to use a small block as a starter motor, we will FIND A WAY.
