Volunteers?
I'm planning on putting the body back on the chassis later this week. I need 3 volunteers to actually do some work for a few minutes and at least one more to watch and tell us what we are doing wrong ... (this is optional - and may conflict with the wife's job description)... :D
Experience with Unique kits a plus...but not required. Clean hands highly preferred. Sure hands and some coordination between hands and feet is a requirement... at least for the 3 helping carry... I'm thinking Thursday or Friday late afternoon. Anyone around? |
Chill
Thursday might work for me if its late or around noon. Will need new directions as I threw out the ones from before. |
Chill;
If you cannot do it late this week, I'm available for the weekend (most of it, at least).......I'll be in New Orleans on Thurs/Fri, but do arrive back in ATL fairly early afternoon Friday, if that works?? Would love to see the car and progress, so call me when you get it figured out, and if I'm around, I'll be there. Cell is 770-598-0888 BigEasy (Charlie) :p |
Clyde,
I should be available on Friday afternoon. I also have an old friend (hotrod) guy who has a Stinger Lift franchise in your area who said he'd love to help. I don't have a contact number to call you and coordinate. I left messages at your work numbers (thanks to Lewis at Southern). Please give me a call on my mobile. I left the number on your voicemail. Tony |
Thanks
Looks like I have a few volunteers for tonight. Charlie is going to drop by on the way back from work (and Alex?)... and a few of my associates are coming by to make I don't forget about work while I'm at home this week (so I'll put them to work. eta is 6:30. If the weather is better this weekend, Tony try to bring your car by so I can see what I have to do next!
Which box was the stereo in???... I haven't found it yet while looking through what Unique sent me... Guess I'll call Alan  |
Together Again!
Thanks to Charlie and a few well-meaning amateaurs (my employees) the car is back together again.
Note to Unique builders.... make sure the driveshaft safety loop is mounted as far over toward the driver-side as practical, the bolts on mine were keeping the body from sitting down correctly, but once that was moved (a painful process once the body is back on) it sat perfectly in place! |
I guess you did this Wednesday nite???
|
Alex,
I sent you an e-mail about Wednesday, must have missed you :( ... Does e-mail from the forum go to your office or home? |
Sorry Chill it goes to my house and I don't log in there that often. After being at a computor all day i seem to avoid them at nite  Maybe I should switch over to the office.
|
Glad to hear you got the body installed easily enough. How about rolling that thing out into the sun and snapping a few update pictures for us? Bet it looks great. So what's your ETA looking like now? Late May? Early June?
If it would ever quit raining around here, I might actually get a chance to drive mine once in a while between diaper changes and catching a few minutes of shut-eye. Keith :) |
I can tell you all that that Chill's car looks great....the paint work and color scheme is exceptional.
I can also say that those bodies weigh a little more than I expected, especially having to lift it shoulder high to clear the frame, shifter, etc. But, all in all, it came to gether pretty smoothly---good thing we had 5 people though. So, Clyde, is it all finished and ready for the road??? BigEasy :p :p |
gettin close
In between household projects, I've gotten the seatbelt holes drilled and the belts test-fitted (with the help of a friend at G-Force Racing and a few nifty brackets). The body's bolted down, fuel tank is installed and fuel lines are in, hydraulics are hooked up, seat holes drilled and ready for the seats to be bolted in, radiator's in and fan's mounted. I have been working on the aluminum panels that go around the oil cooler... I'm on my second set of poster-board templates...
I haven't hooked up any wires, but the harness has been run and that's next. Plan is to drive it to Nashville late May! **) **) **) |
Chill is streaking to the finish line and I'm still sitting here in primer. I hope to get back to the car this weekend. Since chill has no wheels I may beat him to the road - I have offered to rent my wheels and tires to him :D
Depending on the outcome of some medical test this week :JEKYLHYDE I may need a little more help than planned. I'll provide the beer of choice for any able to help. Randy |

Randy,
I can help on Saturday. Sunday, need less to say, it's out. Let me know Hector |
Cobra Lift?
Chill,
Please provide details of the lift / stand that you use for your Cobra. It looks perfect for what I need as it looks light weight, uses very little space...shipping cost must be minimal...oh.. and it's a new tool that my wife may not even notice!:) Thanks! T |
Nice Photoshop edits Chill ;) Maybe Randy can send you a pic of his beast in primer and you can show him what it COULD look like :D
Randy, best of luck on the test, hope it's just routine. If you need help, call Carrerajon or me, we are around the corner. BTW, that has been me beeping at you on the grey motorcycle. |
Chill - How much did the Weavers charge for the levitating land speeder option? Will it corner, or will you just go flying off the road? I bet the ride's pretty smooth. No chance of wiping out the oil pan on a manhole cover, either.
Okay, I'll stop now. Keith :) |
T.C. my painter sanded allmost all of the primer off Sunday - something about it wasn't prefect. We did get it reshot and will probably wet sand Sat and try to get the base and clear on Sunday.
I'm having several MRI's done Wednesday to see what's up in my neck and head. Possiblities are endless with my red neck and brilliant mind. So it was you tooting - I thought it was my gay neighbor. I have tried to make my car levitate like chills - guess the wheels and tires weigh too much. Randy |
Monofilament Levitation
This new fishing line is awesome... Just tie mono to the bumpers and to the overhead door brackets and it's now easy to get under the car and not have to bother with those bulky jack-stands
 Excelguru: Roads? who needs roads.... |
