Moving to Atlanta?

To all of you in the Deep South, if one were thinking of moving to Atlanta where is a good place to live that is within easy driving distance of downtown Atlanta. (I know that is an oxymoron in Atlanta). Ideal neighborhood would have large lots, large garages and cobra friendly people.:D

Chaplin,

Using "Cobra-friendly people" as part of your selection criteria for locating a neighborhood won't work as the whole city is Cobra-friendly! We've got a great bunch of Cobra guys who communicate regularly through this forum and socialize when ever possible. You couldn't pick a better locale (except for morning and evening traffic). If you do decide to become a local, welcome!

Large lots are a rarity in most planned neighborohoods. For 2 acres or more, check out Buckhead (BIG BIG $$ for 2 acres), some older homes in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody. Plenty of big spreads in Roswell/Alpharetta but the commute to downtown starts becoming a little troublesome for my tastes if done during mainstream hours. Southside of the city has huge horse farms and good space, and a consideration if flying out of Hartsfield airport frequently, but a very different flavor from the north. Most of us are on the north side of town.

I was in E. Cobb for 23 years. Moved to Decatur: Now 6 miles from downtown. 15-20 min commute vs 50 min to 1 hr-15 min commute from "the north"- (that time to town was in 1997) cb

Tony Rad is right .. it seems like this whole city is "Cobra Friendly".

My suggestion .. get a Realitor. I happen to know one that could help. You can PM if you're interested in a contact number.
