road racing in the southeast

 Does anyone have any infomation about racing on a road course? Don't get me wrong we have taken the cobra to many drag racing events but I want to really feel what my car is capable of.
I know that there is a road cousre in Altanta, Ga but I do not know if they allow anyone on the track for my purpose of just having Fun:D
If anyoneone has any info or stories that they would like to share on this subject please share.

At least two in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. Probably many more.

There's an excellent track in Kershaw, SC called the Carolina Motorsports Park. Click HERE for the website. Several of the guys on this forum have run it and I believe they'll only have good things to say about the track.

(Hmm... the website doesn't seem to be working...)

Also, you should consider attending the Willis 100 (see separate thread on this forum).

We are running at Gainesville Fl. this weekend. Great course for beginners and others. No concrete barriers, just grass.
Check the thread under DSCC. I think there are still some slots available. Also doing it again for Reptile Roundup next month.

I believe Road Atlanta has what they call "High Speed Touring Events" or may they are days. Call them and see if you can get on the track at one of those times. If you don't have some really soft tires you won't enjoy it as much.

I'm going to "TRY" to see if the DSCC can rent Daytona or Sebring in the coming year.
Guy's, this means it will cost a few more dollars that G-ville and require a larger number of Cobra's to keep the cost per driver reasonable.

Let me see what I can work out.
Maybe in time for the 04 Reptile Roundup I can get sponsors for one of these two tracks.
Keep your fingers crossed!
