Gainesville Oct 18th track report
Well, back home after another fun and event filled Gainesville track event.
First I want to say thank you to Dave Hintenland, Dave Niblett, his fiancée, Terry and Carol Lee for joining us on the Poker run test drive. The route is great and I know everyone will enjoy it next month. Thank you Dave H for taking the time to plan the poker run route for the Roundup. Again, the carnage continued at Gainesville Raceway. Worst of the damage occurred to Chester and Debbie Littlefield’s cobra as the weld on the lower control arm mount broke ending their day prematurely. Also joining the list of DNF’s were Tom Jones (Oil Pump?) and Ed Boothman who wanted to see if a FFR Spec racer would float. Buried in about 18” of water, the answer was an obvious… NO!!! Robert Donehoo, on his rookie outing at Gainesville experienced some brake problems that kept him from running late in the afternoon. The huge smile on his face during the early morning runs was testament that the past 6 months of building his FFR Roadster had paid off. Jim Pomroy is still trying to “literally” drive the tires off his Blue Monster Mustang. The rivalry continues, as he was unable to best the times of yours truly. The new timing system worked out very well as the software changes to the timer were a success. Here is the bad news: Due to insurance policy changes, passengers are no longer permitted at GIR. Also, the G-ville track authority must now approve my track layouts. A “certified” instructor approved by the insurance company are the only passengers allowed until this rule changes. Thank you to all the guys from the DSCC who continue to support our club and attend these track events. Here are the track times for the October 18th event: Bold numbers are best lap time. “OT” off track. The last time I checked a 70.95 is better than a 71.29 but what do I know I am not an Engineer like you. ;) |
Made the change....

Thanks now I feel like speed racer :D
Oh yeah I just ordered my Aero Wheels and Goodyear race tires so watch out. I also am rebuilding my Holley as it was not working correctly and my accelerator cable was frayed and almost broken. That was causing my throttle to stick at about 2000rpm. It would go up just not down. |
Why would you care if the throttle went down? Sounds like a perfect modification to me.
