Annual meeting date?
Any date or location decided upon yet for our annual meeting this year? It might be better attended if there was as much lead time given as possible. Just a thought.

A suggestion: Grassroots Motorsports Magazine is having its 20th anniversary celebration in Atlanta (I think Road Atlanta) in April (I think); lots of vendors, car clubs, events, etc. Maybe the annual meeting could be held in conjunction with the Grassroots event.

The only thing that Ed mentioned so far was that because he has had a good turn out for Reptile Roundup that he was thinking of combining the roundup and our annual meeting. It would be the fourth annual meeting and the 3rd Roundup. I'm sure Ed will reply on Monday.

You guys do know that ENGINEER ED does not own a computer right? He has to wait untill he gets back to his job and use his work computer to communicate with the free world.
Why does he not own a computer? Because his spends all his money on his cobra and Rene's dog Shelby. He did mention that he thought combining the reptile roundup with the annual meeting would bring more people. We had 75 cars at the event on Saturday which was the biggest DSCC event to date. |
Well to clear things up for you all....
I do have internet service at home. My previous account is on my olc PC that has been taken over by my son. His games cause it to crash so often I just gave up using it. Now that I have a new lap top, I'll be sure to chime in once in a while on weekends. My weekends are usually busy with the "Honey-do" list so not many opportunities to chat with you all. OK, now on to the Annual meeting / Roundup. As you may be aware, the Reptile Roundup II has by far been the largest DSCC event. I believe that having an event that is attended by so many of our members is the best way for us to make decisions, elect officers and voice our thoughts about DSCC issues. At the Roundup this past November, former DSCC president and founder Jerry Rowley suggested that I extend the length of office for the present officers and incorporate the DSCC annual meeting with the ’04 Roundup. Ruble and I agreed that we would extend the length of our term until the November event. New officers would hold their positions for a year from the new dates. I am requesting that if you have any ideas that you think should be added to the Roundup, please let me know. Presently I am working on the following: Thursday night, drag racing at Gainesville. Another open track event on Friday (Gainesville). Car show, more vendors and seminars, mobile-Dyno and poker run on Saturday. Should we count points for drag racing, road course racing and car show judging? Ala “King of the Hill” title? Buffet dinner and DSCC annual meeting on Sat night. Sunday I’m working on having another track date where potential customers can “rent” a vendors car and drive it on a closed track (Gainesville). I want to drive the Coupe! Well, Thanks for worrying about me and my lack of presence on the forum during the weekends. Just so you know: If I have any spare time, it’s usually spent getting naked with my wife, not playing with my computer keyboard! Ed |
Ed,
Now all you have to do is get the wife to also get naked and you are in business. When you finally get to retire you can get naked and also find time to play on the computer.  Does this mean that the fourth annual meeting will be sometime in November of 2004? I don't want to be in Vegas or elseware as my honey has me running all over the country this year. I guess I'm with Bumpster if you let me know the date I can plan around it , or find out latter that I have already made other plans. Dan |
After speaking with a few of the vendors, there is the SEMA show is in Vegas from Nov 2-5th.
This means I must move the Roundup to Nov 11-14th. Mark this date on your calendar. The only other dates could be Oct 21-24th. Hope that helps narrow it down, Ed |
