Report from Gainesville, March 27th, 2004

The fun at Gainesville never ceases. Smiles were had by all the drivers, both rookie and veteran. Another great event and chance to see good friends once again.

Friday night kicked off the event with a Bar-b-que party at Dave and Kim Niblett’s house.
Thanks to the new couple for their hospitality and having us all over for food, fun and drinks.

Saturday morning the drivers and crew lines up their snakes on pit road and prepared themselves for a day full of sunshine, good times and a heated battle for the title of “Gainesville’s Top Dog!”

A damp track soon dried as the sun exited the cover of the clouds.
After a few parade laps, and the workers took to their stations, the battle began.

It’s too bad someone spent all that $$ on new huge, cross drilled rotors, cool front and rear sway bars…. And still got their butt kicked with a guy with a blown head gasket, stock mustang front brakes, rear drums and no swaybars… :D :D :D

Hey Ed,
I'm freezing my a$$ of up here in Chicago. I missed you guys last weekend, but the new Rhino is really fun. No windshield, so not only does my a$$ get cold, but hands and face also. Heading back south on Saturday with a stop in Cashiers to get some things done on the new place.

Even faster than Reg? Obviously not in the Run and Gun Car.

You guys must have taken a turn or 3 out of the course as everyones times are down. A 58:66 average low time - what the HELL??????????????????
I know - No Hairpin! The only place on the track where I get to use some torque had to have been removed.

We saw the "NASCAR Experience" at IMAX last nite, what a blast - I reccomend to anyone who loves this track stuff!

Terry, we only ran to the first hair pin.
The track was exactly the same way as the February event but we ran the track clockwise....
The faster speeds due to the "increasing radius" turn, and the shorter hair pin explains the reasons for the faster times.

No, Reg did not have the Run-n-Gun car...
The one he brought had some ignition issues late in the morning and he dropped out of contention.

I actually ran against him and got a yellow flag.... :D

Blown head gasket needs to get fixed before Roebling.
If my shop gets built in time, I'll be lifting with the new 10,000lb Bend Pak two post lift!
Hot Damn! Ground breaking on the new shop in 4 weeks!

Renee and I can't make it this year.
We are headed to Jamaica on May 11th for a week of sun and fun!
