Ed, Ruble, Tom, Jim,Rick etc.
If you guys would like to join HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) and run in the Mitty, let me know quick. I have worked out a plan with the competition director of HSR that would allow your participation.

Agingracefully 04-14-2004 10:45 AM

Johan-

Erik and I will be doing the RennReunion the week before and a DE event for Erik at Roebling on the 1st and 2nd. sorry we can't make it, cause it would be a blast. Maybe next year?

Thanks for thinking of us.

Rick

Spyderman 04-14-2004 07:08 PM

Lemme get this straight, you guys don't want to be in HSR ?
ED, Come on !

aumoore 04-14-2004 09:03 PM

Johan
As long as I don't have to drink funny sounding wine that cost's more than the GNP of most south american countries I am interested.

Do they get to wear historic safety wear like leather helmets and racing scarves?

Spyderman 04-14-2004 09:18 PM

Come up and run with HSR at the Mitty. You'll have to have a bit more in the way of gear (suit, helmet 95 or better, gloves, underwear, extinguisher), and I promise you will whup Ed's ass at the Willis if you run Road Atlanta and he does not. Check out www.hsrrace.com . Check out the pfotos and tell me if it looks like leather helmets or if it looks like guys like us having fun at the greatest tracks in the country

I want it on record I am mowing that puppy down as I am sick and tired of looking for him every lap. I have tried to reach agreement and warn him not to pass. Over and done with. I was hoping that PoS would have broken something by now...no such luck. Since it is a modified Pinto, can we pool our money on a rear end collision scenario? Last race, he get's champagne, I get a $.99 ribbon. It's the Energizer bunny on Ephedra or whatever that crap is the FDA don't like. No wonder why he talks funny. Johan, what class can I enter in with a Cat D-5 on supercharged nitro? I will figure out a way to run about 16 slicks by then. ;)

Spyderman 04-14-2004 09:24 PM

Flintstone, having said all that, I sure hope you don't hit and kill me. If you don't like being passed by a 4 cyl. pinto powered car, better call in sick.Actually, I do not think I can keep up with you at Road Atlanta, no way. Not with that freight train and the long straights.
Ruble, slap Ed on the ass, wake him up, tell him to join HSR and come up here to the Mitty and just TRY to not be passed by the "Yellow Fellow from the Bordello"

aumoore 04-15-2004 07:09 AM

HSR says you have to have a competition license and I barely have a drivers license? I am afraid I will not be able to attend but I might want to come take a look see.

Johan 04-15-2004 07:41 AM

Ruble, I've got that problem solved. You have done enough Gainsville and willis events that I can sponsor you for a special license that allows you to drive in Group 1, (no passing in the corners, racing for best lap times but not really fender to fender ) so that you can participate in a "big boy" event. You do need to get a physical though...

aumoore 04-15-2004 10:55 PM

Johan
Can you get me a special exemption for my wife to let me go.

I think I had a physical a few months ago but I did not get a finger wave will that count?

aumoore 04-15-2004 10:58 PM

Oh yeah how many greenbacks for the chance to tear the fenders off my cobra?

Spyderman 04-16-2004 06:08 AM

A 1 year membership in HSR is 125 and the Mitty entry fee is 395, but you save the 3800 fee for the Panoz driving school usually required and the 300 each for the three Driver Educations.

Engineer Ed 04-16-2004 07:03 PM

Well, since my engine is in pieces, it looks like I'll be sitting this one out.
I'm heading to Jamaica in early May so those two weeks are out.
I'll be returning on Tuesday evening and then off to Gainesville on Saturday to kick some @$$ one last time before the Willis race.

Sounds like fun, but I blew the head gaskets at the last Gainesville event. I think they have been blown for quite some time...
I pounded on her last month to keep ahead of Bob and it caused her to run awfully hot. Well worth it to maintain the crown!
Thankfully, the heads suffered no damage so it's only gaskets that need to be replaced.

It would have been nice to get a set of AFR's but my dream of owning a nice garage is finally coming true.
48' X 30 shop breaking ground the first week of May.
I'm thrilled...

I'll dedicate my first oil change on the new lift to my newest
b!tch... aka Bob Gassie! :D

Johan, thank you so much for the invite.
It is an honor....
Please let me know if this offer is extended for next year!

Ed

IS anyone using in-car timng devices and will you be running your system at the Willis? What system will you be runing? What system do people like?

I understand that with some systems one transmtter will time several in-car receivers giving individual lap times for the different cars? This true? Lemme know-I want to get a system. chip

Spyderman 04-17-2004 07:19 AM

Ed, you should still join HSR even if you do not run the Mitty, while the opportunity exists.

wilf leek 04-17-2004 10:30 AM

Never mind all this car talk.

The main and only question is this - will we be having "orange" pictures again this year?

aumoore 04-18-2004 12:36 AM

Spydee
If I come up for a look see what does it cost just to hang with you guys without my car? I might want to see what it is all about and then Join. I may be in the Atlanta area at the end of next week.
