it's getting to be that time of year again......
|
This sounds like the best event in the world! What can I do to be in it?
|
Hi There
Johan,
Glad to hear from you! Hope the video from last year as been editied and will be ready for showing at this year event. I just spoke with Ed this past weekend about the 24 Heurs Du Willis. Funny how things work. Let's start a new thread for '05. TL :MECOOL: |
Yippeee! You don't know how many times I've had to stop myself from asking about the 2005 event. I figured that Johan would tell us when the time was right. Now the anticipation can resume without limitations. I'm in.
|
Johan is the only person I know that can stir up so much interest with a tiny post about the time of year - any date yet?

Tax Season ! The Willis Races '05 details have yet to be established, For instance the theme, however the dates(as shown on www.Roeblingroad.com) are the last weekend in June which works out to be the 25th and the 26th I think. The biggest problem I have at this time is a conflict with an SVRA race at Mid-Ohio the same weekend that will keep some of my vintage race Brethren from coming. I'll keep you guys posted. |
Johan,
The DSCC and I are at your disposal. Please let me know if you need ANY help with organizing this event. The DSCC will take care of ensuring Hooters will be present for lunch and possibly a few hot wings to go along with them.... :wow: I've already notified the cook and bartenders to be prepared for which ever dates you select. Again, please let me know what I can do to help. Ed |
Johan
Terry "Flipper" Lee has mentioned strippers instead of hooters girls will that sway your Brethren to skip that stale SVRA thingie? Oh yeah I got a new Dodge 2500 with a Cummins Turbo Diesel. Now the Cobra is my second most powerful vehicle. It should have no trouble pulling that trailer around. If I can ever get that kid of mine out of college I may consider joining your vintage race tour. |
When will June get here? I look forward to this more than Chirstmas whick leaves me with big bills topay and my Birthday where I end up paying for my own gift anyway.
I look forward to seeing Johan, Spydee and the whold DSCC gang. P.S. Why would anyone get excited about seeing someone take paint off old race cars? |
Yes Ruble, I too am looking forward to the 2005
"WILLISWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED" |
Ruble -
I know how you feel about the 24 Heurs du Willis, but the clock seems to be running fast to me. I took my car apart over the winter and I'm rushing to get it put back together in time to check everything before I hit the track. The chassis is in my trailer, the body is in the garage and bags of parts are everywhere. With some luck, I hope to have the body back on the chassis in two weeks and the car ready to run by early May. Oh, before someone asks, there are two reasons I took the car apart. 1. That's what boys do with their toys. 2. It's part of my neverending effort to substitute technology for driver skill on the track. |
Williswood festival of speed.
Man I can't wait.
Is is July yet? I'll have the new Backdraft broken in and ready to kick some Ar$$. Johan, I need to speak with you about this event and the number of DSCC guys that you are allowing to attend. I hope you wont mind me giving you a call this week. Again, the DSCC is available to assist you with preparing and hosting this event. Cheers, Ed |

Someone once told me it was the driver, not the car..... |
Ed, if you wait till July, it will be too late. I got us a weekend this year, the last one in June (25th,26th) .
|
Johan,
Thanks. Any idea of the date for the Birthday Party? Still looking for bartenders and cooks? Ed |
Friday night it's the motel parking lot or the track if you prefer.
Saturday night it's the "bar" and the hot tub for Daisy after she's done cooking. |
Johan,
Hotel parking lot sounds cool. Terry has been itching to cook out again. He bragged for months about the food.... We had such a blast last year, I cant imagine a better venue. But do us a favor and dont break your Cobra this year. And get some @#$% sleep this year will ya! Dont forget a change of clothes either. Man, the flies were thick last year! :D Cheers, Ed |
Ed, go ahead and try to insult me, but the truth is that the flys were only a problem after you rode in my car, and when you left, so did they.
|
Et tu Johan?
:D Sorry I didn't call last week. I've been busy with the new Backdraft. So, did you get a new Jericho for the Drive thru car? Ed |
