Dan,

Why take a picture?? Just drive it home.

CobraDan 10-26-2004 04:01 AM

Jack,
Galloway is suppose to get 3 GTs one is for Sam and the other 2 are going to be actioned off starting at around $160,000. Galloway had to buy almost all of Fords entire stock of their other cars and trucks to get 3 GTs as most Dealers won't get one Gt let alone 3.

Interesting, I was looking at a red one Saturday at United Ford (Roger Penske Group) in Broken Arrow). The GT is such a beautiful car in today's market given that the design is basically over 40 years old. I have been told that another dealer in Tulsa has a grey one on their floor that is going to be auctioned off.

Same thing dealers did with the PT when it first came out.

$19,000 sticker with a $25 to $30 k auction price.

But that is one great looking car!!!

RedBarchetta 10-26-2004 08:26 AM

At those prices I'd buy a CAV GT for $100K and buy a C6 Corvette for my daily driver (and still have money in my pocket). :D

Well, the car on the show room floor was RED. I asked for a ride and they told me $1,000 per ride. They said for every GT that is in the hands of an individual other than the Dealers has gone for over $400,000. Hell, I can't afford the ride. It is nice looking.

Ford GT

The Ford GT-40 is a timeless masterpiece of strength and honor of the USA and of simple design and beauty. Ford should be cutting these GT's out with a cookie cutter and selling them at a reasonable price, say 55,000 or 60,000 at the very most. I look forward to the GT engine "a wooping 500HP" to show up in the Mustang SVT or a special bullet version mustang and looking forward to the engine sold as create motor as well. I have climbed in a CAV GT-40, its like getting into my Cobra with the top on, not easy.

Its a beautiful car, a work of art, for the fortunate few that can write a check for the 100% plus markup.

The dealer by me has a red one too (??) that is "ON LOAN" from his good buddy that paid $229K for...yup, the DEALER's good buddy paid his friend an additional $75K.

Must be nice to have money.

Rumor has it only 2 years of production due to tightening of EPA standards and the moder is supposed to make its way into the F150 Lightning.

bmalone 11-04-2004 05:32 PM

I heard the short production run has to do with crash tests more than anything else--that is, it won't pass the tougher tests in two years.

RedBarchetta 11-04-2004 05:43 PM

Do I detect some orange peel? ;)

RACER X #99 11-04-2004 05:53 PM

I only hope a REAL car guy gets one and puts it on the track. I'm friggin tired of seeing track cars in parking lots.

Edley Rondinone 11-04-2004 05:53 PM

Jay Leno showed up at the local Bob's Big Boy Friday nite hangout with HIS GT. Or so a friend who was there, said.
