A $15K turn key Cobra will be a POS.

I'd rather have a $15K Cobra with a Chevy motor than no Cobra at all......... I think... :D

Hey that VW would be pretty nice-
if it floated, and I were bass fishing...

What is up with the sparklies?!?

nevermind... why would I even ask. It's a VW Cobra after all.

Before you dismiss VWs altogether, consider a Porsche 550 Spyder replica. It's a lot closer to a race car than most replicas, and can be made to be very quick. It's not a Cobra, but just as raw (and fun?) for a lot less $$. Check out www.spyderowners.com, www.spyderclub.com, and www.speedsterowners.com for info.

You can occassionally find a used one in the price range you quoted. You can get a new turnkey for ~$25k.

V dubs certainly have their place, and a Speedster or Spider is a very nice place for them.

In a Cobra? Well, I'm not bass fishing either.

Yeah, I need to be clear about that. Speedsters and Spyders can be a lot of fun, but a VW-powered Cobra is just wrong.
