Anyone going to the Track event on Oct 27?
Just wonedering if anyone is going to Gainsville on the 27th? If you are going and are around the pasco/hernando area let me know. Also need to know where to get a reasonable helmet, and fairly quick at that. Also what does anyone recomend bringing with me? I dont have a trailor so I would be driving the car there (not sure if thats a good Idea or not) Any feedback would greatly appreciated, as I have zero experience with these types of events. Have never been on a track, and niether has the car. :(

Don't you mean the 27th?
I will be there if I can get my motor back together in time... |

Bring: Sunscreen Cooler with ice, water, and a sandwich. Bring a car cover if you can in case it rains. If you have a small folding chair you might want to bring that too. Wear long pants. Before you turn down the long road that leads to the track make sure you fill up with gas at the station on the corner. That station is about 6 miles away so make sure you account for that. You'll burn through a lot of gas at the track. Don't worry about being green at the track. We're laid back and just out there to have fun. You'll really enjoy it. I'll be in a black Expedition with a black enclosed trailer. Stop by and say hi. Jim |
oops, I did mean on the 27th. Jmimac, do you know how I can get in touch with Ed?

I'm coming up from Lake Worth Friday evening. The Backdraft Boyz are coming up also with a special guest, Tony Marrtin from the BDR factory in SA. We have one more BDR from Palm Beach County signed up that is making the trip.
I too have not been on the track yet. I would make sure you try on the helmet and not buy through the internet. Motorcycle helmets and other DOT rated helmets would not be allowed at other events such as SCCA, FAAST, NASA and others. I got mine from Wine Country Motorsports in Palm Beach. Check your area for a supplier. Look forward to meeting you. I'll be the BDR car with #461 meatballs. |

Wow, thats cool that the backdraft boys will be there!!! And even cooler that we get to meet Tony Martin, maybe not a big deal to most, but I actually am excited about meeting the man who made my car. Hooked up with Ed via email today, after many emails back and forth all I can say is: What a really cool guy! I am glad I found this forum, great bunch of people so far! Can't wait for this weekend I'm stoked!!:D :D :D
