Looking for engine builder north of WPB
I have a Cobra I brought in from the UK where I had it in storage for 4 years through damp winters. I am looking for someone to check the engine and probably freshen it up with new rings/gaskets etc. It runs and sounds great but throws a little smoke out the rear and wont idle properly.
Can anyone recommend a quality, experienced engine shop near to West Palm? I am actually north in Jupiter so anywhere within a 50 mile radius of that would be perfect. Many thanks, Paul |
You might call Mustang Specialties in Pompano Beach. The work almost exclusively on ford motors and do a lot of high performance builds and modifications. John is the "carb guy" as a lot of them work on EFI only. But they have a head porting shop and should be able to do what you want - or they can certainly give you a very informed opinion on who can. They dyno tuned my 331 stroker and at the time they had 4 cars in the shop being modified - 2 late model "hot" mustangs that they had changed heads & cams on (something like 550 hp and 700 hp), a Fox body Mustang that was a dragster (chute and all) and a 'tamer' stang with some engine mods.

Thanks Rick, I will give them a call.
I am looking for work on a 292 Y Block in my Model A. I will see if they can hep with that too. Paul |
I have a friend who just restored a Model A and he has "the best antique ford motor mechanic" on the East Coast. Send me a PM and I will get the information when I get home. Thanks, Rick
