12 Hours of Sebring
Just read the DSCC newsletter, and it looks like we have "Turn 1" viewing and parking again this year for the 12 Hours of Sebring. Going back in memory, this was the site of Carrol Shelby hanger in 1965 and 1966. It was just incredible to see and hear the GT 40's and Cobras come out of the hanger and head over to the Start / Finish. We had camped out on Friday night just opposite the hanger; Saturday morning came around really early after a night of partying (heads hurting) to the sounds of all the Shelbys - still unforgetable!
Check out the DSCC web site for info on how to sign up for entry into the Turn 1 area. General admission will not let you into the area - they have security personel at each of the special viewing areas and you will need a special pass for entry and car parking. Parking inside the track fills up early Sat. morning and will require a hike to the track. Jim Pomery is in charge from info I saw. With Eng. Ed and Robert D. shoveling and blowing snow up in Wis; will we have facilities (RV) with big screen TV as last year? Hurry up and make your reservations early, I think you need to sign up by 2/23 to get in the group. Hope to make it myself this year, but just wanted everyone to know that the turn will be available to our members. TL |
There will be several RV's there again this year. Engineer Ed himself may make it down.

With the weather that Ed has had for his first winter north of Tampa I think he will have to stay home and be ready with the snow blower just to keep his drive cleared and I already told him not to put that snow blower away until July 4th.

Hey Dan,
Are you going to Sebring this year? Bob |
Since the prices are only for racers only and not spectators more than likely I will not be attending but plan on the April gig.
