24 Heures De La Floride who is going????

The newsletter below from Larry Hess gives a brief up date of this April event starting on April 24-26, 2009. Larry said our web site should be ready to have people sign up as of March 1st, So who is going???? Post here

Update on the planning of the first
Deep South Cobra Club 24 Heures De La Floride.
The 24 Heures is a touring event starting simultaneously in
Tampa and Pensacola and ending in Old Town with our Cobras
being prominently displayed at the http://www.old-town.com/

The north leg will start Friday morning April 24 in Pensacola
with rally points in Defuniak Springs, Cottondale, lunch at
Miller’s Ale House Restaurant in Tallahassee, Live Oak, The
Osceola National Forest Olustee Battlefield Museum, dinners at
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and spend the night at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel in Jacksonville. We have covered and secure
parking.
Also on Friday, the south leg will begin in Tampa, with rally
points in Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Bonita Springs (Lunch),
Miami/Fort Lauderdale, and Deerfield Beach. Hotel and dinner
are TBD.
On Saturday the north leg group will stop in St. Augustine at a
point of interest being arranged now, Daytona, and join up with
the south leg group in Melbourne for lunch. The south group
will stop in Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and lunch in
Melbourne. Then the combined groups will caravan to Old
Town. We will arrive as a group and park together in the most
prominent place of display that is being reserved for us. The
host hotel is Comfort Suites Maingate East and is right next to
the display area where will be parked.
Check out the above link for the Old Town Car Show. It should
be a lot of fun! Sunday morning, we’ll get together for
breakfast and then part company and head home. Arrangements
for caravans can be discussed at breakfast.
We currently have 33 cars signed up and expect more. We will
have T-shirts and static cling decals similar to those for the
Monte Carlo Rallye, The Great Race, The Camel, etc. All
details and registration information will be finalized by the end
of February. Please join us for the first annual 24 Heures De La
Floride by registering on www.dscc.us in late-February.

Anthony,
Most Cobras have no top plus we are still in the dry season plus Larry got us a covered garage at our first hotel stop so you don’t even have to throw a car cover over your car to keep off that morning dew. Make sure not to put that car cover on until after those side pipes have cooled off. I just made my hotel reservations at the Crown Plaza and the Comfort Suites and I’m ready to go.

Tangible Toys 03-24-2009 07:28 PM

Hey Dan thanks anyways, but we'll cover our car!!!!!!!!!! Hey looking forward to seeing you again!!

CobraDan 03-25-2009 05:29 AM

Wayne,
I go to these events to see old friends I see cars every day especially during snowbird season

tbracker 03-25-2009 03:49 PM

I'll be there too.

I'm starting in Tampa. I will stay with friends in Sunrise and pick up a passenger there. On the last leg I plan on a stop at Sun-n-Fun, anyone else?
This is my first event so can you tell me what the windshield/side decals are for?

I am registered also. If anyone else from SC or GA is planning on attending, please contact me so we can possible arrange travel down to Jacksonville. kap506@yahoo.com is the best way to reach me.

Thanks - Kennie
