Unique built the Cobra for Goldberg. I was there a few years ago when the chassis was sitting there with a fresh Ernie Elliot dry sump motor almost ready for the body. Bet they know how to get in touch with him.
Jesse James owns West Coast Choppers I believe. I watched a couple of shows about his custom bikes on Discovery I believe. Maybe someone can just call his shop and catch him there. Or www.westcoastchoppers.com |
Sent mine to Leno this morning! Great idea. Let's keep up the efforts.

Leno has got my email...

DV
Done--asked for sticky treatment too. BTW--thanks--but the idea was renewed this year by a comment by Mr. Kee. I just did the posting... |
DV,
Given your relationship with Dave Smith....Have him go after Boomer. On the FFR website there is a link for team Jenny and pictures there of Dave and Boomer Esiason at a CF charity event in Denver. I'm pretty sure Boomer has a child afflicted with CF. Dave may not feel obligated since it is not one of his cars that is being raffled but, that was last year and this DVSF III. I will buy my tickets exactly like I did last year and this time a completed car instead of a kit .........WOW!!!! .:D :D :D :D Given that circumstance we should have a better chance of him attending as a celeb. The Leno effort is great and I sent my message in. Best Regards, Tony R |
Let's get Leno's butt to DVSFIII
I know God rides a Harley; I'm pretty sure he drives a Cobra as well; I dont know what this has to do with anything, but I will try the e-mail as well! Edley

Getting past the NBC staffers...
:3DSMILE: Just tried something to get past the human firewalls.
Sent a letter directly to Leno under the firm's letterhead via certified mail. Starts of with: "Dear Mr. Leno: No, you are not being sued. This will be a lot more fun..." :3DSMILE: |
I can help out with Goldberg. Scott Adams and John Brantley are both exfootball players who are also Goldberg's friends. As luck would have it, they are our "prefferred" mortgage(HomeBanc) lender and I speak with John daily. I will talk with the guys tomorrow and see what they can do. I do know Scott Adams is the spokesman for "Wheelin' Sportsman", an organization that takes disabled hunters on deer hunts.

New twist!
Way to go Jamo! Any one had any luck conacting other celeb's or organizations?

Robert Blake said He WOULD love to come!!
TURK |
Good idea, Turk
I nominate Turk to run the "Robert Blake OJ Memorial Bail Fund" so that he can attend the DV III. Blake could be official grand marshall! Perhaps he could have a stuffed "Fred the bird" on his shoulder. And maybe we can get "Starsky and Hutch" while we're at it.
BTW, speaking of OJ (my former neighbor here in the Buffalo area) as he swore to find the "real" killer it is obvious that the killer must be an avid golfer-OJ spends all his time on the golf course so he must be looking there! Rick:JEKYLHYDE |
I attended the Cleveland Auto Rama today and had a chance to speak with Dennis Gage of My Classic Car. I asked Dennis about covering the DVSFIII.....he stated "I've heard of it". I told him that several of us had emailed him last year about attending and said that he remembered getting a BUNCH of mail regarding DVSFII. He then went on to say that he would be covering the SAAC event held in Nashville this year.
Oh well, at least I tried. Brian p.s. he seemed like a guy, but then again if I was getting paid to sit around and sign my name on 8 x 10's, I would be smiling too ;) ;) |
Good shot Brian--maybe we change his mind. Somebody yank on his whiskers next time you see him!:JEKYLHYDE

Bill Cosby???? Don't know that he is a big car nut, his twin-super car may have just been a phase, but he would be entertaining.

Hey Brian,
Dennis Gage really is a pretty cool guy. I've spent some time with him. Had lunch and took him for a spin in my Cobra. he makes his home in Evansville, IN where the headquarters of My Classic Car is. He was kind enough to get me on his show and asked me to put my car on display at the reception for Autofest 98, which I did. My Contemporary was one of three cars at the reception. The others were a 1913 Indy car and a 1936 Rolls. Not bad for a glass copy. I don't know if I have any pull with him anymore, but I'll try. I'll also get hold of his partner Brad Kimmel (that's the Bradley-David Prod.) Keep in mind though, these TV shows are usually filmed (and planned) up to a year in advance of being aired. It may be too late for this year's event to fit into their schedule. I do know this though, Dennis REALLY likes Cobras and so do Brad and his wife. After taking the couple for rides, Brad came close to buying mine. (wish he had) Dennis and Brad are both really nice people, but they are busy too, so don't get hurt feelings if they don't jump in your laps. On the Leno thing. Has anyone considered asking him to be the Master of Ceremonies? Wall of people or not, it might be something he would be interested in. Several years ago, we had him lined up to be Senior Judge and MC for the Forest Grove Concours d' Elegance. Don't remember now why that didn't come together, but he is approachable. Our rotary club is notoriously cheap, so it was probably money. If cost is an issue, it is probably not wise to ask him. At the very least, he would need to be offered full expenses I'm sure. Al |

Dennis really did seem like your typical car guy and took the time to talk to the people at the show about their cars and some of the cars that were recently featured on his show. If you have some connections, maybe you could invite Dennis to Columbus during the fling......possibly the night we are at Quaker State. This way he could see what its all about and he would also see the local news coverage that we are getting plus all of the support we receive from the city of Columbus and its citizens. I think that once Dennis sees this, we would have a better chance of him covering the event the following year........DVSFIV!!!!! Hey DV, are we having a DVSFIV???? Brian |
Jamo,
Would World Of Collector Cars be or any interest ? They do a lot of filming of cars and are a nation wide show. They came to Emerson's Motorsports about three years ago and spent the whole day filming all of us and the Cobras and I received e-mails from the East Coast after the shows aired. They aired in three 30 minute segments. The producer is Dale Morris and their phone number is 530-345-6231. Bill Emerson knows him better than I do and if that would be of interest you might contact Bill and see if he could talk to Dale and arrange for them to be there. I do know they travel all over the country filming cars. Just ma thought. Ron |
Horse--way to go! You just want Leno to see the car--now admit it...come on...:3DSMILE:
Al, Brian, Ron Can't imagine DV would say no to any form of coverage or arrangement to get coverage--it all goes to helping Jenny. Remember that famous Greek philosopher, Nike..."just do it!" |
