DVSF - Another event idea...
Hey...just an idea. How many of us are coming in early for DVSF this year? Is anyone interested in hauling your sticks in the trailer and squeezing in 18 holes on Thursday...?
I'll bet we can get a local to arrange something for us if we ask real nice...... Could be fun. |
That sounds great except that Thursday is the 19th. The problem there is my anniversary is the 19th... I don't think I could get away with playing 18 holes that day even if I played the 19th hole twice.   :JEKYLHYDE
|
IF...you ask, I will make the arrangements :)
DV...just had a home made oatmeal cookie! Just warmin' up. |
Thanks, DV....
...you're too accomodating....but let's wait and see how many may be interested. Looks like you and your crew have put together an action packed three day event...we may all need to un-lax on Thursday just to build up some stamina to make it through the weekend!
Can't wait! Me? I'm bringing some "cookies extraordinaire"...called 'Billy Goats'....dates, cloves, cinnamon, pecans...a vertible orgasm of the taste buds! These were my Mom's favorite cookies and since I have inherited her recipe box, I'll honor her memory with a batch or two of these delectables. You'll be sorry when I'm gone after tasting these jewels! ;) |
Golf
There are a large number of courses around here. It would depend on what you want, how far you want to drive and how much you want to pay. We have everything from $8 public to MEGA dollar private. How about Murfield? If you get a member to invite you to join your first round will only cost you $104,600.00.
Oh, I forgot, that does not include greens fees and cart, sorry:LOL: Thursday I am setting up shop at the hotels and watching everyone roll in. I will be the one wandering, er, staggering around:LOL:  Rick |
No prob....
Rick, I've got the Murfield's entrance fee covered, no prob...but I'd be tapped out when it came to cart rental, and the obligatory round at the 19th... :3DSMILE:
Besides, I wouldn't join ANY country club that would accept me as a member! Damn people have no standards whatsoever! Look for me...I'll be the one with the blue and white striped car...!     |
Lets make a deal!
You cover the initial fee and I will cover the cart and the beer. There is a GREAT place to hang out afterwards right around the corner, the Bogey Inn. To much fun.
Blue with white stripes....... OH YEH! Now I remember:LOL:  Mine is easier, it is the ONLY red w/white stripes and NO rollbar. I feel so special! ;) Seriously though, if you have some people interested and you can give me some guidelines I will recommend a few courses and provide contact information. Better yet. Join me by the pool, I will be the one with the BIG cooler (blue and white!) full of Corona! 21 DAYS AND COUNTING! Can you beleive it? Rick |
"Better yet. Join me by the pool, I will be the one with the BIG cooler (blue and white!) full of Corona!"
Hell...I don't need golf as an excuse to drink more beer! Looks like you may have a pool companion...I'll bring the tunes...! Screw the golf...:p "Oh, waiter...another round here for my friends...!" |
Blue & White cooler
FF,
I didn't see a cooler with Coronas at VIR. Now I'm feeling slighted. Hell, you wouldn't have even need ice to keep 'em cold. Good thing you didn't bring your sticks there!!!!!!!! The Biltmore was a cool trip, we did the main tour and behind the scenes tour like you suggested. Took the Blue Ridge Parkway down to Brevard and the back roads thru the mountains down into SC. Quite a trip pulling the trailer, but absolutely no problem. Passed thru several towns where I swear it is legal to marry your cousins, or even your sister. BTW, how is your cousin? Any new pix? :D Have a good time at DV, I'll miss you guys. TL :MECOOL: |

Hey Freddie.... will she need a ride to the fling... I've got a free right seat         |
Terry...Corona's weren't at VIR....but we sure as hell had 'other libations' back at the hotel. I had my travlin' bar with me...usually do. Seems to me I recall extending the offer a coupla times.
..and the 2nd cousins already got the 'RIGHT seat' if you knowhutahmtalkinbout...and she's riding my FACE if she'll come to DVSF...! :p Hell, I oughta post that picture, shouldn't I |
$104,600.00 for golf in Columbus?
For that kind of money, you should be able to play golf in Akron or Dayton. What do you get for $104,000? 6 acres right on the golf course? How many bedrooms? TURK |
Turk,
For $104K I think you can buy an alum CSX w/ 427SO.:D :D :D No bedrooms or even a bathroom though with the car. :3DSMILE: Hey FF is furnishing the beer, so what's a couple of bucks for some fun with your friends; just don't tell the Mrs's. I think the sell job for a new CSX would be the easier of the two. Anyhow, who wants to live in Columbus? It snows there doesn't it? :D |
No bedrooms.
But it is one REALLY nice golf course. PGA is playing the Memorial tournament right now here in Columbus. $100,000.00 is JUST the membership fee and then yearly maintenance runs about $4,600. And remember, you don't golf for free. For the bedrooms, plan on shelling out a cool million or more for a nice house on a post it sized lot, at least if you want to live along the fairway!
You guys just see the middle class parts of Columbus. We may have nothing to compare Beverly Hills here but we do have a few Billionaires and a good number of millionaires here so they have to live some where! Think of all the companies that started here: Limited, Bank One, Nationwide Insurance, Wendys, etc, etc. They all live here! 1.4 mill. in the metro area, 14 in the nation, bigger than some people expect. We refer to it as the nations largest cow town! Yes it does snow here:( This year was particuarlly heavy. Average snow fall is about two feet I think. We have already told the kids that once they go to college, all bets are off! Rick |
