DVSF IV Video! Oh yeah!
 

Alright, Flingers...

At a minimum, I'm going to be helping make the DVSF IV DVD, and if it happens this way, I'm ready to make the whole darned thing! I've already begun creating storyboards and setting it to music.

Right now, I have a "really exciting" 2-color text only powerpoint presentation set to a description of music. Hey, it's a start!

I've been hand picking songs and spending time editing them, fading them, cutting them, etc...

NOW..... I need YOUR help!

As we get closer to the fling, I'm going to be posting storyboard segments that I need footage for. I will be taking video, but I need LOTS of other video, as well!!

It may be as simple as saying, "I need 5 seconds of you starting up your car and revving it twice with the camera at ground level next to a sidepipe."

I may ask you for some parade footage, some "Main Street Dragway" footage, silent auction footage, you name it...

And OF COURSE, I will want the footage you've shot that doesn't necessarily fit anything I've planned. There will be plenty of open space in the movie for things I didn't plan.

I'd also like some ideas for music. I have several dozen songs in mind, some will work, some will not. I'm keeping it with a fairly "rock 'n' roll" theme as the cars seem to dictate. Nothing wrong with a little Wagner, though!

Post some song ideas! No guarantees they will make it in, but I want input from the flingers.

Bottom line, bring your camcorders to the fling and USE THEM!! If you can volunteer to get some specific shots for me, FANTASTIC! If not, just shoot away and you are bound to get some great shots.

Fat (or should it be PHAT) bottom girls - Queen. I debated about this one wondering if it was a great idea or somehow indicating that I need to make an appointment with a therapist.... :) What would Freud say about that?

I am flying in, hence I will have no Cobra!!! (but a rental from the airport.) If someone has a video camera and will show me how to use it, I will get all sorts of video, standing in the street as the Cobras come into London, "drag starts" in London, parking lot videos at the hotels, etc. Heck, I could be "Video Central!!)

Edley, I appreciate that offer and will definitely try to take you up in some capacity! I'm going to do what I can to keep this thread going until DVSF, and I'll post some contact info closer to the actual event.

Sure!!! Just gimme a videocam, and some blank tapes (even some old, worthless wedding reception tapes!) and I can be a taping fool!!! I enjoy video-ing stuff like this!!!

As I had mentioned before, I'm game. I'll have the camcorder with me. Just have to promise me that you'll get the youngest Fling participant in the video. ;)

By the way, just got a new Sony DCR-HC40 (digital camcorder) yesterday...

...planning on (ab)using it at the Fling. :D
