ERA Slabside Flares

Not that I'm in the Market right now(Who knows in the future;) ) but I have been wondering since it is one of my favorite looks. Will ERA be doing any extensions of the Fender Flares on the Slabsides to give it that Comp Look? Possibly as an option?

They are in a thrash just to get the slabside into production. But I would speculate it's only a matter of how thick your checkbook is... It shouldn't be a big deal (but then that's what I said about doing the slabside in the first place).

It's a great looking car. I hope it is successful for them.

I spoke to Peter (Joseph flares) and Bob (about timing) about this, the answer is yes on a order basis. A one off if you will.
Too bad they are so far out on a 289 comp as I would have moved on one yesterday.

So... What is the timing?

1985 CCX 10-10-2009 12:05 PM

8-12 months.........before the body can be made.......:(

 Is that due to development or Lead times now?
If a guy had the money to drop on the car "right now" that would be painful. If not, it would give you a good amount of time to save for those extra special bits.

There are unseen benefits to the forced-wait-time on a custom built ERA. It gives you plenty of time to get it "just right.";)

You are absolutely correct. In lead time I upgraded many parts.

I am sure that I stumbled upon a page on the ERA site that would say "The current wait time for an ERA turnkey is ____ months." But I can't find it now. It's either been removed or it's buried way down deep. Maybe Bob P. will post it or just say that I'm imagining it.:JEKYLHYDE

I thought I saw it recently. Sometimes it's tough to find things on that site. Maybe they just got tired of updating it & yanked it.

I think it's gone. I remember though that it had a link below it that said "If you can't wait this long for your ERA, then please click here."

Hey....?!! FFR Stole my 13 font! I'm dressing up like CS & Calling my lawyer!

1985 CCX 10-10-2009 02:29 PM

It is tooling related, they need to set up patterns molds etc.....

strictlypersonl 10-10-2009 03:06 PM

Any waiting time I post is closer to a shot in the dark than to an educated guess. Peter does the scheduling and knows the flow much better than me. I just attempt to keep my part of the production flow relatively uninterrupted.

Bob

Don't take it as a jab, you guys do great things.... Keep doing them.:)
I will call Peter again.

8-12 months is not that long to wait (if you are waiting for exactly what you want). I have been working on my car for 3 years! I'm sure ERA would do a really nice job making an early comp cobra replica.

If you have a year or so, and you're willing to write a decent-sized check, they will build you anything your heart desires.;)
