When I was a kid I had a favorite Hot Wheels car that looked exactly like that. It was called Silhouette, I believe.:)
EDIT -- No, it was "Beatnik Bandit" and here's a pic. Silhouette was similar, but different. Dang, I remember both of those cars very well.

Ha! I rarely buy such things, but I have a commemorative reissue of a Silhouette here on my desk, in the bubble pack. Because it was MY favorite, after the Ford J-Car, back in the day...

Hey, I was only being facetious. When I read about magnet-held, window shade roll-up and rain slickers, I thought the thread was going down the toilet.

Actually Patrick, when I had my MG that is exactly what I used to do. Left the tonneau up on the passenger side and wore a plastic rain "slicker" that I tucked under the edges of the tonneau and up on the dash. Kept me dry until I could get home to the garage.
BTW-The top is fine at any speed, it does not flop around. I just don't like driving sports car with a roof on it. The ERA tonneau takes about 2 minutes to put up and keeps the inside of the car very dry in the rain when parked. it also does a pretty good job of keeping the passenger side dry when driving with it over that side. I have driven the car with the tonneau on up to 115 mph. Mine only has one piece that flops around near the roll bar cutouts and I just put a microfiber cloth on the velcro between the tonneau and the body to keep it from scratching the paint. |

Actually, I think it's a pretty cool idea for a quickie top, sun or light rain.
Anyone have the details of how the windshield attachment works? I'd guess there's a shaped bar that attaches to t-bolts that slide into the top channel? |

Yes. it can be driven. I have had mine over 100mph with no problems.
It can be installed in about 2 minutes.
It will keep out some rain. The water running off of the fenders gets under it.
I like to install it when washing my car.
My cat thinks it makes a nice hammock.

Well tbone and Warren have obviously had different experiences than me. At 50 mph mine was trying to rip the studs out.
I prefer it for keeping out leaves in the fall and pollen in the spring.
A C6 is much better at being an all weather appliance.

I'm just going to continue to carry my tarp. And if a bad storm catches me, I'll just sit under the tarp and wait it out while listing all the things that I know that RodKnock doesn't.:p

I have an original ERA tanneau cover that came with the car. It doesn't have that fancy storage pocket. That must come on the continuation ERA's whereas mine is an original. :)
