Who made my wheels?
Well, darn. I pulled the front wheels off for the first time and was surprised to find no maker name anywhere on them. They're standard Cobra 6-pins, provided by ERA with the original roller. Other than manufacturing marks (and numbers on each spoke/pin hole set) the only marks are COBRA II and what looks like an elongated peace sign.
Trigos? PS? Halibrand (the spinners are Halibrand)? Kragar?

Cobra II is/was a designation used for Halibrand.

Aren't a number of the other makers producing Halibrand copies or (har har) knockoffs? Does that designation necessarily mean these are real Hallies?

"Cobra II" was on the Trigos that we used. (We hardly ever use Halibrands)
We were changing over to Vintage brand right around your chassis number, so I couldn't automatically identify whose wheels you got.

Thanks, Bob. Are there any maker-specific marks I can look for, or are the repros completely authentic in details?

The Trigos have some script on the outside surface of the center - I don't remember exactly what it said. The Vintage wheels are completely smooth, a little darker, and have a better finish.

I don't see any markings around the center at all. These seem dark - although I don't have much of a comparison basis - and have an excellent finish all around. We'll call 'em Vintage and be done with it. :)
I have to say I was glad to find out that Vintage Wheels is not the same as Vintage Wheel Works. I had some... issues with VWW over the wheels for my Mustang.

I just noticed this thread and that I'd never closed it. A reply from Vintage Wheels says the markings indicate they're Trigos. Thanks to Bob at Vintage Wheels for the time and trouble of his reply.
