Remote oil filter change ?

For the life of me I can't remember what direction to turn the oil filter on the ERA remote setup to loosen the can. Doug told me it loosens clock wise but is that if you are looking directly over the can?

clockwise looking from above, counterclockwise looking at the bottom of the can.

Ken is right, all oil filters unscrew the same as any standard bolt.

oil filter threads

I have never seen a left hand thread on an oil filter so, Righty tighty -- lefty loosey.

To our Ausi and NZ brothers... since you are in the southern hemisphere.... and very concerned with the coriolis effect.... and drive on the (no offence) "wrong side of the road"... do you do "Lefty tighty, Righty loosey" down there?

"Righty tighty -- lefty loosey" was the rules we used to date college girls back in the day.

Then there's the old Right Hand Rule (which defines more than just threads).

Hold your right hand in front of you, fingers slightly curved and the thumb pointing up.
If you rotate something along the direction of your fingers, it will travel in the direction of the thumb.

And the trusty Left Hand Rule for figuring out the magnetic polarity of a coil....
