Mounting new Holley Fuel Pump in ERA

Bob, any advice on mounting a new georotor fuel pump from Holley HP 125? I believe the new pump is a little heavier than the old electric pump. Should I mount two alumimum plates to either side of the fibergrass trunk side panel first?

I plan to install the Fram HPG filter between the tank and the pump and a pump relay to ensure full battery voltage to the pump.

Thanks

Large OD washers would do the job too.

We usually mount the pump directly to the side of the frame rail with threaded inserts.

Threaded inserts??

Bob, I have not used threaded inserts. What are these and how difficult are these to install?

Thanks

There are insert installation instructions in the manual in the bumper installation section for "Retrofitting the front nudge bar". I'd recommend using something like McMaster Carr's part # 98560A571.

Threaded inserts are the way to go, --get the tool to install them properly and pay close attention to drill size and angle.
